Hi Al

Sounds like it was a great ride.  Are you putting another one on before the tracks turn to mush??

I dont think Zeb will appreciate Steuart being on this ride as his camera came out at some in opertune times. I look forward to seeing the results.

Lefty is a legend , pete you guys should all be thanking me for entertaining him all day thats whyhe left the rest of you all alone ....  Anyway becasue he enjoyed my misfortune so much he is going to offer to come around and help me remove , clean and repack the wheel , stem , swingarm , and suspension bearings then we can move onto cleaning out the case , tank , brake masters and then refilling and bleeding them,  then we can move onto cleaning all the elextric conectoes with contact cleaner then we can put her all back together agin yipppee  .....  Positive is these things were all due to be done anyway but now i have no excuse to avoid them  Angry Angry Angry Dam River  Angry Angry Angry  Hows the Kawa sorth the fuse issue out ?

Up in the air at the moment if i will be putting on anymore Amtra rides. And am thinking about another level 2 ride, but more likely to go back to my usual ride. It dont get mushy out there, it just gets more fun. Maybe a little slicker, sort like if the amoral factory exploded? Will see after the HCR what i want to do.

Just to add to the thanks, Ill say it again!
What a ripper day that was, especially that run back to the car. (And maybe not so especially that downhill, thanks Nathan!)
Only my second ride with AMTRA, and it was great to see a bit more of how it works, and meet more people.
Hope the river cleared up for the fisherman after it was rudely disturbed my many bikes and one swimming man!

I am intrested to hear if anyone felt the ride was to easy or hard? (!! Would like some suggestions for improvement, if i decide to run another level 2 ride.
Cheers Al

Al my thoughts right or wrong are - If anyone thought it was to easy then they should of went with nathan , if anyone though it was hard thye shold of stayed with you. Hard to get on a ride were you get to have a crack at that much variety in terrain great fro improving the skill set .

Verdict  -  it was great dont change it we as riders have the opportunity to make it as hard or easy as we want talk about spoiled for choice ...  Grin  Thnaks for spoiling us >

Thanks Steve. That hill Nath took you down didnt have the trees a couple of weeks ago. But even then i see some people walk it that ive never seen walk a bike before. Glad you liked the day and found the "Amtra" experience a good one. That was defently the widest skill range ive had in one ride as im use to running with a smaller group and working the group hard for the day.

Zeb.
Your comments are right, and was an eye opener for me and my skill set, (speed not one of them) and what different people find a challedge. Like rivers? Must admit though, the short ride up "Mine Shaft Track" after the day was done was a good unwinder, with the rev limiter found a couple of times. And thanks for picking Pete up on your way out.
See you out there soon hopefully. Al

And sorry for not remembering your name, but 26 people is to many for me? But ihope the bloke who hurt his knee, that Mark took back to his car. I hope you will live and are back on the bike soon? I would usually give you a call, but i cant call if i cant rememeber? "SORRY"
Al

Smiley Wink Cheesy Grin Angry Sad Shocked Cool Huh Roll Eyes Tongue Embarrassed Lips sealed Undecided Kiss Cry
Hi everyone,
Where do I start this time..I'll try to give you my impression of this new 'RMTL' AMTRA journey, my first ever level 2 ride.
I guess for the one's that know my riding style:-X will probably understand my state of mind leading into going on this ride..especially one of Al's 'Legendry Status' ones  Undecided  I did a bit of soul searching and realised and thank you too Freddo for helping me realise, I had to htfu, rfkit, abcd or whatever you want to call it. So with a little bit of encouragement from me mates, I can now say "I've conquered Fumina" and it's now just the beginning... Grin
Al, absolutely brilliant day to test every skill I've learnt and to learn also, what noT so good skills I have and need to practice, practice, practice on. I know Gary, full throttle right hand, left hand control the speed  Shocked  The terrain in those tall timbers in that Tanjil area is so beautiful and has so much to offer. The hills were magic and the overgrown bits of track were awesome (sometimes  Huh) but gave it a crack anyway.  Big thanks  Mark & Pete for offering to go tailman I really did feel for you both & bravo for putting up your hands.  There were just so many more of the team that helped me  out on the day; Zebraman, Gary 2 stroke legend,Nathan Rocket Man, Rossi Boots, Bob the Builder (big thanks to you big time buddy, hope your not too knackered today)and the list just keeps going on...I could mention all of you.. Such a fantastic, good bunch of blokes to ride with that make any girl feel welcome..Any girls out there thinking of joining AMTRA, you just have to do it!
...oh, and just in case your wondering what sort of drama's I experienced on the day
1st Off. Drop poor bike coming around a rocky downward bend to come upon a river torrent crossing and with an audience of all the team sitting and standing on the other side of this biggish river eating popcorn. Well, you can probably guess what happened next..yep, got a lesson in de-watering the Sherco....again.....thanks' team Sherco Pat for showing us all how it's done & for the other chaps that assisted  Tongue . At least you all got a rest & I had a nice bath.
2nd Moment: Having a race with a 'wasskily wabbit' for about 500 metres down a road...guess what, the wabbit beat me  Cry
3rd, 4th, 5th...etc  moments...Had many fun moments sinking face first into rutty, stinky bog holes...gotta love those Angry, trippi'n over logs, power slides on gravel hills etc etc.. usual stuff..
Final triumphant homeward bound moment...Crossing that last river, with the popcorn crowd on the other side and not dropping or sinking the Titanic again  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
So much to say..but you just would have had to have been there for the experience.. The following are a few pics prior to lift off in the morning.. sorry there's no action shots from me, wouldn't have never been able to keep up with the lads to get some shots anyway.
Oh yeh, and Al, you are still on my Xmas Card list...and if you do another ride like that & you're all happy to put up with me..i'll be there  Cool ..practicing.... Until the next ride....Cheers, Marls
ps Freddy, thanks for chauffer duties  Kiss

AL, the day worked a treat really. I know I was happy to blast the morning sections while Mark did tail. I didnt see any real problems with track grading at all. When we seperated groups Nathans group had some great riding & a little bit of a chance to hit up some extra stuff if we wanted to. Which suited everyone really. Then the regroup allowed those who had limited experience on tighter stuff to progress. I know Marls had some fun on this stuff. ( Not having a go at all here) just meaning it was a new experience which was her aim to step up to some grade 2 stuff. But the real positive was that Marls & everyone finished the day with a smile. So in summary I guess the morning was easy grade 1, the arvo in parts grade 2 to 2& a bit. My opion only NOTE. I think the reality being that if people thought the arvo was getting a little harder it was because of fatigue rather than the type of tracks. Hope this helps Al. Cheers Pete. Oh & Yes my fuse is fixed. LOL

Thanks Al you 'pushy bugger' Grin Pete's right when he says that all the tracks that you took our group on, were perfect level 1/2 stuff and boy how true that your energy does get sapped if you have to walk a few hills and pick up the bike a few times  Shocked Plan to improve in that area too
Cheers, Marls

Thanks Pete and Marl's for the input. I was stressed at the start of the day that i may have lost my touch on what a level 2 ride should be. And as nasty as it is to say watching some of the stuff peolpe struggled on, made me realise that my own ride level is probly higher than i thought. As i spend most of my riding time with my peeres, whom do stuff i wish i could manage on a bike. Hence all the question about the level, as i do get a buz from helping and watching the fist pumps from people when they push and get the challedge done!
Thanks to you and everyone for the input Al
