I turned up at Eildon this morning and the temp was around 18, there were 7 of us ready to hit the Eildon hills.
We headed of at 8.40 and i decided to ride to Rubicon via the Eildon/Thornton lookout then off to climb my favourite hill, Park Rd hill it about 40 degrees up n down and around 2.5 klms long, it's one of those hills were you have to keep on the ball otherwise before you know it your in the sh!t and coming down fast, fortunately this was not a problem for me as i was on the FE570 tractor and this thing can pulls stumps clean outa the ground, five of us made it to the top, as i descended down this ripper hill  i gave the turn around signal to Keith n Bruce hoping they still had brakes at the bottom of the hill . We rode around Rubicon but found most of the tracks had been shut for ever, i decided to head along Royston Range which is chockers with rock "shakes the sh!t outa ya", and at the end Gerard was complaining about no rear brakes "Hey Gerard how about some Maintenance you idiot" he had lost the pin and split pin for the Brake pedal to Master Cylinder arm, luckily between a few of us we managed to fix it with a 6mm bolt n dome nut "LUCKY"
then we rode to Fifteen Mile and Jamo Road.

I looked at the speedo "93klm" it was around 11.30 and we all decided to continue to Jamo for lunch and that would be around another 40 odd K's, so we headed off to Homestead Track and down the main road to Newmans Track, this track goes up n up and at it's highest point is Mt Terrible (1630m). We regrouped at The start of Mt Terrible Track and Gerard and Darren had just gone onto Reserve.   "NOT AGAIN" Gerard had lost the mounting bolt for the Bark Buster. MMMM still around 25-30k's to go, not looking good, luckily Leon VK had his Exxon Valdez Fuel tank on and had about 9 ltrs in the tank. Darren gotta refuel via Bruces syphon hose but Gerard kept going, i was in conserve Fuel mode and was doing the down hill bits with the clutch in . All of us got to Polletti Track and Gerard and i rolled down the track to Jamo/ Kevington Rd around 8 k's. There we had another regroup and refuelled Gerard then headed to Jamieson Petrol Station, i put in 7.5 Ltrs that means i still had 1 Ltr left, therefore i could of got around the 150k mark.
All 7 of us headed for the Pub of a Beer n Meal, we left the pub around 3.00, Keith decided to head back to GIRLY way up the Bitchumen "63K's" while we went the MANS way back. It was BLOODY HOT" in Jamieson but as we headed up the hills the temp dropped around 10 degree's, we rode up to Mt Terrible Lookout and rested for a bit. Once refreshed down we went down down down to Eildon Jamo Rd then back up Homestead onto 15 mile them headed for the tight stuff.

Tight stuff and high Temp = NOT GOOD but we all took the plunge and headed into the good stuff, there were trees down all over the place but we managed to get over and around them. By this time we were HOT n Rat SH!t and headed for the creek crossing for some well earned cooling down, aahh there's nothing like Evap cooling when your riding, back up Mallets Track and into Eildon to the Cars (5.00pm).
We had done 197 Klms for the day and it wasn't that bad riding in the heat.  All round this was a good group of riders and made the day a memorable one. On my way home i stopped into Thornton Milk bar got a Plain Icypole, Sunnyboy & a gatorade, i was that thirsty.
Ps: I had the Parma n chip n Gravey not the usual Chicken schnitzel n Gravey.

Special thanks to Bruce for doing Tailman all day.

Looking forward to the next Eildon 210 ride on the 27/02/10 should be fun.

An excellent ride, plenty of those damd rocks to throw you off balance, but hey I have learnt how to do it pretty well now. I enjoyed the workout, no Gym fees needed, but stuffed by the end of the day. I would have to agree with pete, The girly way sucks, I thought it was going to be a quick way home so I could get home in time to see a BABA concert with the woman,  I was home late and kicked my already sore ass.
I tell ya i should of stayed.
