Wondering if there are any rides similar to this one last year?

I remember Paul, Alex and Phil were on that ride...they're the only names I remember but I can recall most of the faces.

Obviously Abbeyard is gone for now but are there any planned rides coming in this area of a similar distance, spanning 2 days?

That was one kickass ride, well organized like the caravan park accommodation  for the first night etc.

Totally hanging out to do something like that again.

I'm planing to do the normal family cup weekend at the block thing.

I'll more than likely do the Abbeyard-Licola-Abbeyard day ride.

I'm even thinking of a Abbeyard-Dargo-Licola-Abbeyard loop in a day.

Sounds good Tim.

Would this be a full weekend thing...ie 2 days riding camp overnight?

I'd prefer to make a weekend of it.

I take the family up to Abbeyard and camp there for Cup weekend in November. Taking the Monday off gives a  break of four days.
On one of those days a few of us will get out and do one big day.
I think from memory Abbeyard-Licola-Abbeyard is 317km round trip, over the Great Dividing Range.
Not a bad day out!

Steve,   As you are probably aware Tim has recently taken delivery of his new blackhawk.  Explains the time frame.
On the Dargo ride in question, we arrived in Dargo from Abbeyard well after dark on the first day.
Yes!, it was a great trip and we should do it again, before we forget where the place is.

Tim does does not does not own a helicopter. I scooped this photo of his latest bike recently. I suspect that even the Berg will struggle to catch this one. Not to sure how it will go on the erosion jumps though

I nominate Phil to arrange the trip and Paul to do the map work  Tongue

Happy to , if we can have a few takers,  last trip was an overnighter with back up vehicles.  But not before November as I will be away for a while.  Have to relearn how to ride an early 50's Royal Enfield (with gear lever on the  wrong side, I suspect).  A show of interest please.??

I went on the Abbeyyard -> Dargo ride last year, almost hit a couple of animals in the dark, valves gave it up at the Dargo Pub and had an 8 hour ride back on Sunday in a transport

But I'd do it again  Cheesy

I need a good few weeks notice so I can arrange my wife not to be working across the weekend ... keep us up to date !!!

Otherwise, I'd be up for a day loop back to abbeyyard, but it takes me 3 hours to drive there so I'd have to stay Friday night as to get a good start on the Saturday morning.

Seams to be a bit of interest in a BIG ride.

I'll say that I'll do one on the Sunday (4th Nov) of Cup Weekend.

Starting from Abbeyard and returning back in one day to either Licola  or Dargo

I've been to Licola and back in a day twice before. One trip we got to Licola at 4pm for lunch and fuel, all part of the fun!

Haven't done the Dargo and back in a day and I am keen to give it a go. I've been looking at maps already and think it's a fairly straight forward trip.

A fuel range of a bit better than 160km would be required.
