Good Luck guys, have a ball and don't forget the pre-hydration, which does not include beer, and make sure you keep hydrated and fed during the event.

After a long day in the car were at the pub hydrating waiting on some meals to come.

Today's efforts consisted of,
Trailer repairs
Countless fuel stops
A great burger at cann river

Then a sleep for a few hours

Seono forgot his hydo pack, we called into a push bike shop and they wanted $120 for a pack we kindly told them where to go.
I surgested a kathada bag from the chemist but he didn't like that idear.

So who wants to guess how many laps we will do?

Last years winner of the iron man did 21 laps

I'm aiming for 30 laps, may be kidding myself but I'll give it a bash

Here's a bit of an update,

Track is insanely hard with meter deep ruts like a whooped out section in the desset.

I've retired at lap 8 with some chest pains
I've had 2 crashes from fatigue.

Al's finished I think
Clarky trying to decide if he's going back out but he's been thinking about it for an hour and a half.
Naths on lap 11 going strong
Tim's on lap ten , not looking so strong.
Tony's out there and haven't seen him for a while but he's on about 6 laps

Phone service is very patchy

And yes I was very much dreaming with the 30 lap thing lol

After riding the course I said I thought 14-15 is a good goal for all.

The place is a masive dust bowl now.

Wow what a day! I knew ironman would be tough but I didn't think it would be as hard as it was. The whole course was whopped out by the end, dust was real bad , the meter deep ruts were a challenge but I got better at them as the day went on.
I'm glad I put in a fair bit of effort and trained hard at the gym before this event as it really paid off, I ended up with 17 laps and a potential top ten finish out of 42 ironmen.
I must say a massive Thank You to Al Mason, your help with maintaining my bike in my pit stops was invaluable, without it i doubt i would have done 17 laps
Now I'm off to collapse in the spa in my motel room.

Oh and i forgot to mention i was pi55ing blood by the end of the race  Shocked

I finished 9th in ironman! Fair to say I am absolutely stoked with that result.

Tim finished 12th in ironman for another great result

Seano and Pauly finished 23 in class out of 48 teams, well done guys!!

For a group of weekend trail hacks we got some execellent results considering the competition.

Here's a link to the results.

Great work, guys!

Some good results there (not that you were looking for results).  Hope you all recover from the weekend, and look forward to hearing reports and seeing photos.
