Beutiful day I thought to myslef as I drove to the meeting spot , got to the turnoff the princess hyway to find Dave already waiting , a couple of the guys rolled in late so we were running behind before we even started. everyone arrived finally and I looked at the group and thought I was at bathurst for a minute , Jarrod in a super low slick looking Holden V8 ute and Dave and Mark in VE SS V sedans kind makes the old nissan pathfinder look a little tame.
Anyway we headed into Bunyip through the dust and bumps
( The nissan didnt seam so bad now ) and could only get about half way into the unload area due to a fallen tree over the track so we picked a nice spot and started suiting up , Alistar comes over and say that Oscar is missing so I suited up and went looking and found that he had taken a wrong turn , lead him back to the cars and once he suited up we were set to go.
Down link road we went , onto black snake creek and left up ash landing go to the top and waited for the group when Jarrad rocks up and says Dave has a flat so we went back and set about changing tube on his Kato ( 5 Kms into the ride mind you ) 20 min later we were away again , accross the ridge and down Andersons and up little bunyip and by this time were well and truley had our eye in. DECIDED TO HEAD ACCROS BLUE RANGE nice open stuff so the guys could open up their throttles a bit and let loose unfortunatley Oscar came down on a errosion mound with a couple of small logs laying over the track on the down side of the mound
( no damage expet a deflated ego and a scratched bark buster - Dont stress Oscar WE HAVE ALL BEEN THEIR ) . Covered another 40 od kms and due to heat the guys had had enough so on the way back just for fun we decided to do some hill climbing practice on one of the power line side tracks, a couple of hunderd meters high she was and about 45deg and happy to report that every one had a crack and made the top ( Onya Bryce for being the guinee pig ) and about half the group went around and did it again about three more times for good measure ( Dont worry Oscar we have all been here as well )
Great group that moved well , no injuries and a good ride had by all - Covered about 80 kms a bit short boys but not bad for a hot day
