Title: WOODS POINT HEADS UP Post by: Ken R on February 07, 2012, 01,07:53 AM Another great ride to Woods Point on Saturday with the bonus of having our regos and licences checked in town to make sure we hadn't forgotten to renew them, how good is that for service in the middle of nowhere?
Two guys on DRZ4's who we waved to and kept going when they actually had a hand up to stop us - oops. We didn't go far of course and were soon having a chat. They were happy enough with stick on number plates and old licences but were keen to see a rego label. Old licences? so you don't loose or damage your current one. Title: Re: WOODS POINT HEADS UP Post by: Wiggy on February 07, 2012, 04,22:09 AM When he waved at me and shouted "police", I thought he was trying to tell us that the police were down the road near the pub. When I spotted the word police written across the front of his riding top, it dawned on me that he was the police !
When I stopped, the 1st thing I said to him was that they really need more conspicuous clothing to avoid an embarrassing situation ! Looking across the road I spotted their DRZ's with tatty looking police stickers on them, so I asked where the KTM's they usually use are ? He said that they were from Mansfield and it's the Melbourne Special Solos use the KTM's. The Mansfield group use DRZ's as Suzuki has provided them under some sponsorship deal. All was good including the few stick on number plates in our group, however I wouldn't hang your hat on other cops letting stick on plates go ! |
