When Nathan puts on a "level 2" ride you can expect that  its going to test any rider who turns up. So it was that 7 riders followed Nathan through 100km of some very challenging terrain in beautiful 28degree sunshine.
Thank you to Nathan for leading a fantastic ride and his partner Sam for providing a very much appreciated lunch, drinks and fuel stop. Lefty did a great tailmaning job all day thanks mate!

And now for some pics.

Dust beards, back in fashion?

One of the few pics I could get of Nath, he doesn't stand still for long!

Yes it was a great ride thanks to Nathan. The group flowed like Dennis`s`bourbon and coke, a little dust here or there but nothing annoying, and thanks to lovely young Sam for a lovely tasty lunch, which i had too much and found my riding style change. I couldn`t help myself it was yum. Thanks to Mr Reliable Lefty for the tail man duties, job well done and to Wade for being the papparazi clicking away at any giving opportunity.I think everyone had a good day, i know i did. Can`t wait till the next one. Cheers

I think its all been said but I had a great day too. Love that tight stuff, and a fantastic loop. The lunch, fresh and plenty of it thanks Sam. During the morning ride it was quite cool riding through some of the tracks but did warm up around 3 when Nathan called time. Pretty sure he had achieved what he wanted to. Thanks to all for making it a great Australia Day. Even got home in time to take the Mrs out for dinner.
Cheers.

Wow what a day! It started at at the Glenburn Roadhouse where we met at 8am on the dot and then headed off to the unloading area to get ready for a great days riding.
With everyone getting ready rather quickly we were off and into it at about 8.50am. After the 3rd track which was a technical downhill i stopped for a re group to see how everyone was going, the comment "gee i'm warm now" was pretty much said by everyone.
We moved on with a couple of nice open tracks followed by another technical down hill and flowing tight track and back out onto the road to head off up a track that has one or two logs to cross  Roll Eyes
After a detour by Denis, Zeb and Wade we were all back together at the end of the log track and off into some more flowing tracks followed by some really nice leaf littered tracks.
Everyone was riding really well and we were moving along at a good pace which meant we were going to be early for lunch so i had to slow it down with a couple of stops here and there, which i don't think bothered anyone.
Just prior to lunch we did some tight tracks one with a little creek to cross with wasn't a problem but the exit up a red clay embankment caused a few problems for some, the next track was very overgrown so much so that at one point a tree branch across the track pulled me off my bike to sample the dirt!
Back underway we headed to the lunch spot where we met Sam with lunch, cold drinks and fuel.
After a good feed a rest and a re fuel we took off for the afternoon loop which was more of the same as the morning loop with a good mix of tracks from tight and technical to tight and flowing and some more open stuff that everyone handled with ease, there were no hold ups or problems and the group was moving along quite quickly.
After a big rocky uphill i was conscious of lowering fuel levels so we headed for the cars before someone needed to be towed.
The last track of the day is fairly challenging, especially when you're tired! but there was no issues and we were back at the cars by 2.40 pm with about 110k's on the speedo!
Everyone seemed to enjoy the day and i loved it!! What a great group to ride with. usually when i put a ride on up there i have to cut it short or people pull out during the course of the day, but not this time!!
Thanks guys for coming along and helping to make it such a good day!
Thanks to Lefty ( Mr Reliable ) for tail duties all day.
A huge thanks to Sam for bringing us lunch and fuel, without that we wouldn't have been able to ride that far!!
See you on the next one guys! maybe early march.

Sure was an awesome ride at Murrindindi but on my wish list now is a set of bark busters, my knuckles are still hurting from the lashing of the over grown tracks. A bash plate might be helpful too!
