Jeff Davey puts on a top ride. There wasn't a lot of punters which made it quicker for the four of us and the day flowed well.
Wet conditions all day made some parts interesting.
Shortly after taking off we tackled a challenging uphill track which had the heart pounding and a little fatigue which took a while to recover from. Tracks were a bit more open after this and 'slippery as'. Shane found this out by kissing a tree with the front end of his bike. A heap of bark rammed between the front disc and spokes. No damage done and off we go again.
Next incident was Chris sliding down a track after the rear end decided to let go. The new Yz450 unhappy with the result, twisted bars and bent radiator. We realigned the bars and pulled the radiator partially out to unkink a restricted radiator hose then back on track again.
Sisters track was diabolic as expected.Chris cleaned it to the top, Shane just and Jeff only just. Myself not at all, even letting the rear tyre down to 4lb didn,t assist progress. It was one of those slippery hills that when you pick your bike up off its side and the handlebar end and footpeg aren't digging into the mud, you on your feet and bike start sliding down the hill. The only way to stop is to lay the bike down again.
One particular track slowed us down with a lot of deep bogholes however we all made it through okay.
We traversed woodall tk from the top as climbing it would have been impossible. Then stopping for a rest at Bennetts lodge which has a family connection with Jeff.
Later we rode along an overgrown track which was good fun. Until I had my front end deflected just off the track where a giant hole was left from an uprooted mountain ash tree. The result being my Wr450 at 45 degrees upside down at the top of the hole. I had to wait for Jeff to return to help lift the bike and wheel it out. It would have taken 3 or 4 of us to get it out if the bike fell to the bottom of the hole.
About 10kms later we are back to the cars all satisfied with the days mix of tracks and challenges. Thanks Jeff.
He rides the KDX200 brilliantly and puts on an excellent ride.

Great report Mark I have been meaning to write one myself but could not get motivated.

Between the wet weather and some track changes that I was unaware of the advertised level 2 ride quickly became clubman standard.

To everyone’s credit  there were no complaints, we all just stepped up a level and got on the with the challenges. Like the one when I was not too sure of a certain intersection, and continued  straight ahead.
This trk was very slippery with a fair downhill section, the under growth was getting thick. And if that’s  not enough in several places saplings, had fallen across the trk and lay just above the height of your  handle bars.

Then as if to rub it in the trk dead  ended, a couple of hundred metres  latter. So the uphill return trip was a real challenge .
Big thanks to Mark for being tail man ..

As for being brilliant on the Kawka Shane has some helmet cam footage that tells a different story!!!!

It was a pity that Shane didn't capture himself on camera running into the tree. Or that is what he lead us to believe.
