We new it was going to be hot so myself and 4 other victims  met at the DSE unloading carpark at 7.30am for a 8.am start.
With level 2 cruisy riding in mind we started sth down Brads famous opening morning loop down lizards and Sawdust and working out way up to the plantation. Sean soon discovered after a couple of hrs that the electric starter as not working due to a broken positive terminal so we headed for some shade so we could fix it. We then found some goat trail of beards to find after around 3 klms it was a u turn dead end so we turned around and came back out were at this time Paul's 550FE berg was showing it's disability of road gearing. We then found some more goat track that went on and on with the guys bringing up the rear dropping like fly's in the deep rut's  we all got back to a main road for a regroup and some Map studying . We then headed for young track to find the great steep up hills which Phill and I had discovered a couple of weeks earlier to which set some more great challenges for my four faith full followers following.
Along the way we discovered Paul had a broken gear leaver  on the big Berg so we cable tied a rock to the remainder to keep him going. Once we had done the Young loop it was nearly 12 so we headed back to the car with around 45klms under our wheels. I hope all had as a good time as I did and look forward to doing it again soon.

Please feel free to add guys on your own thoughts of the ride. Will

This was my first ride out with AMTRA and what a great time I had, as Will says I suffered on the steep rutty hills with my road gearing, so off to the shops this week to sort that out (and my broken gear shifter  Sad) I'd like to say that it was the gearing that made me fall off 3 times, but it would be more accurate to say that after 5 years of cushy gravel trails in Cyprus, I've got a bit to learn about this 'Bush Bashin' lark  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes.

Thanks to all that were there today for not taking the piss out of the pom on his Berg to much and especially to Will for a thouroughly enjoyable day.  I now have a week to fix the Berg and recuperate and hopefully I'll be out for more.

Great mix of terrain some goaty, some ups, some downs, some ruts, some off's and some open trail. Very happy with the husky now.It perfomed well with my adjustments to it and no overheating. Looking forward to rats video footage. Thanks to Will for a great ride looking forward to the next one. Seano

P.S We"ll save hanging it on the 'pom' till next ride!!!!

Will,,your bloody champ mate..excellent day...

Started off turning up to the carpark with a flat front..20 mins later and alls good..Woo hoo lets rock n roll..Dust  dust and temp riseing..hardly anyone around so off we go..

nice ups n downs and free flowing tracks..then onto some singles..noice..watched milktoast bury the front into a rutt and sommersault over the bars into the bush..pretty funny stuff..well i laughed alot(with him ,not at him;))

again more free flowing stuff with views...

then we hit a nice steep up and downhill bits..

you know those sorta ruts that you say to ya self "no worries, im all over that" ,,,well there cool..done

you know those sorta ruts that you get from the 4x4 warriors ,deep and tight on the pegs, "cool ill stay high sided" no probs...done

you know those sorta ruts that you say to ya self "DONT GO IN THERE" you know , the ones that if you go there your cactus.......well..... i did....End result, me laying down faceing uphill in the deap rut, with the dr650 on top of me , with the swing arm sitting on my head which is pressed into the ground,,no damage, err, well, killed my camera and a noice burn to the forearm from the exhaust, pondering and Thinking "if Eric was here he would be pissing himself"..

Was a realy good ride..Had a ball..Will Seano and Milktoast rocking, and the pom did good too Smiley..

i have some ok footage ,mostly of milktoast rolling around in the bush, and dammit i didnt get my good off either..

Again cheers Will was great fun...Rat(andrew)

Had a great ride, even though I came off more times than my last half dozen rides combined. My first one was my best ever..I'll have to give Rat permission to send it to Australia's funniest home video's,as long as we go halves in the prize money.I'm a little sore today though..
And thanks for takin' us on the ride will..
