Where do I begin, another successful AMTRA ride, another successful fund raiser and just a bloody awesome weekend with some of my AMTRA Family.
The weekend started for me early last week when I realized I had not finishes building my new double bed in The Kennel Camper. A few late nights and a quick check over of the 300 and the ute and I was good to go.
Met a few guys at Traralgon for the convoy to Woodside.
Ken R was the early entertainment with him arriving at 8.09am for a 8.10am departure and all he was worried about was were can I buy a coffee.
You will have to wait Ken till we get there and aunty Bob will make you one.
The Davey's arrived and we hit the road for the long 40min cruise to woodside.
Gary and the kudz arrived and got busy setting everything up for us whilst we all got ready to go riding.
I gave a quick debrief on the fines and raffle and fund raising antics and on the L1 ride and the corner man system.
I then handed over to Johnny who gave a good debrief on his L2 loop.
It was time for the L2 group to leave, mmmmmm one of the first fines went to ride leader johnny when his trusty old KTM would not fire after cutting out. They kicked it, pushed it, towed it to no avail.
It was decided that everyone would tag along on Bobs ride whilst Johnny and Mat and Gary had a go at getting the 525 to run.
We headed of on Bobs first loop and did tracks with the following names, Bobs Track, Zebs Track, The Ferral's Track,
Hamishe's Track, Goanna track, get the idea if yu ride with Johnny and Bob eventually you will get a track named after you or something you may see out there.
Ken R got a fine from me for the following advice of a couple of teenager's who sent him off in the wrong direction as he thought they were corner men, Bob got fined for being to fast in a straight line and too slow going around corners and lots of other fines.
Some got fines for coming off, or just cause we could or looking for there glove when it was on there hand.
The riding was awesome, but have never ridden in so much dust, Johnny met us on Mats bike at around the 2/3rd stage of the loop and took some on his L2 loop whilst we continued on and back to the cars for lunch and the raffle draw.
Even though it was only a L1 loop there was plenty of tired looking body's at lunch time and some dissapeared.
The lunch was sponsored by Pommy Mat and and Johnny and Sandra sponsored the refreshments , once lunch was done we played slide the coin to the bottle of scotch which raised $118.00 and was won and then donated back into the raffle.
Some of the prices we had this time which were all donated was slabs of heavy beer, bottle of whiskey, Pens, coffee mugs, wind cheaters, F1 promo stuff like hats, shirts drink bottles, signed V8 posters and T Shirts, oils, Grips, riding gear and other clothing. The Echoe Brush cutter which we will finish auctioning at this Wednesday nights end of year club meeting which is currently running silently on this website with a current bid at 12.30pm sunday 25/11/12 with Phil Randall at $300 and has a retail over $500 so there is still a bargain to be had here .
We must thank out sponsors, Redron. Dec and Allpower, Johnny and Bob, Gary Clarke, Pommy Mat, Gourmandale Village Shop, Bairnsdale KTM, Motorcycle Repairs Traralgon, cause with out sponsors we would not have had anything to give back to all our attendees. I hope everyone left with something to remember there day out at Woodside with some real crazy Mothers and Grandmothers.
With the fund raising proceedings out the way I decided to hand my bike over to Johnny so he could do his afternoon loop and then I proceeded to have a look at his Kato.
Before he had even geared up I had it running once again so it was a quick re gear up for me and we left the L2 bunch to screw Johnnys bike back together and the L1 arvo loop was happening.
More sand, more dust, more stutters, more erosion mounds, more trees to wind in and out and duck under, more overgrown unused tracks to explore, more passing Bob as she was a little slow in some of the sandy sections.
It was all going great till near the end when at a regroup I went to start the old 300 and the kicker broke off, Oopps
some suggested we push start it, that wont work I have an auto clutch, Pinch James kicker of his kato Al suggested so with that get out the way James with allen key in hand it was soon off, getting the rest of mine of was a little difficult but with enthusiasm from Ron H and Phil and myself it was soon off and I started bolting it on, James commented that perhaps I should not bolt it on, why James your bike has a button, yes Will but it does not work, Fark best you give yours a push I said and not before long we were all under way once more , not long and the arvo ride was all over and done with by about 4pm and most headed off and some hung for a bit of bench racing and lots of laughs.
Myself, Mat and Debbie and Johnny and Bob where camping the night so we had a few adult refreshments and it was decided that about 8pm might be a good idea to cook some dinner as it was getting hard to laugh at the days tails on an empty tummy.
A big thanks to Uncle Phil for Tail duty's on the L1 ride and to Al for afternoon point duty and of coarse to the wonderful Bob for leading the L1 ride and to Johnny for his 1/2 day L2 ride and all who chipped in to run the days events like cooking, cleaning up, picking up rubbish, raffle, counting money etc, route planning you know who you are cause you know you put in
It was so nice to see everyone smilling all day long, it really makes a big difference to the day when everyone is having fun.
Thank you all Very Much
and to all who came along and supported the day cause with out you lot it would not have been successful.
this time we raised $700 from Fines and donations plus the $118 from slide the coin and we still have the brush cutter to come on Wednesday night.
