Well 4 brave souls turned up for my first AMTRA ride leading including myself Roll Eyes. There was Rob Marc & Jeff and we set of at about 8.20 with Als "special track" first cab off the rank to start the day, well the ride leader did'nt make it up( Im blaming tyre prss to high, and it did rain Tongue so Marc who was doing tailman duties decided to stay with his leader Wink until the other two can back down to see what the hold up was Lips sealed After that everything went fairly smoothly till after Tajil Bren where the next track had a big tree down. As I got there Jeff was helping Marc get over, and as Marc was lofting the front wheel over the tree the front wheel hit Jeff in the chest sending him A over T Marc fell left into the bush and the bike slid right down the log Cheesy After that things went smoothly to Woods Point for lunch and fuel. The return journey involved some differnt tracks until we got back to that same tree Angry we all got over without incident, and carrying a small hand saw I thought we should at least weaken it a bit, well it was cutting it that well we ended up removeing it all off the track. It was then that Marc suggested that maybe we should have done that before lifting all 4 bikes over Roll Eyes Grin After that it was a smooth ride back to the cars having done 198 Kms.Thanks to those who turned up to make it a fun and entertaing day and Al for a couple of hints  Grin Grin Grin

Great ride Eric ! When he puts the next ride on make sure your on it. It has a bit of everything: steep uphills, steep downhills, 1 or 10 river/creek crossings, 4WD tracks, dis-used 4WD tracks & never used 4WD tracks that require some pruning. They are all fun & some more challenging than others.

When you do go on Eric's ride, ask him prior about the condition of the 2 wooden bridges as if you hit them the wrong way, you'll know about it !

Thanks again for a great day  Eric.

Jeff, sorry about the S12 in your chest.......

Oh yeah, the CRF450 can through in one piece, i'm now off th the Dakar !

Good job Eric, hope any info i gave helped and to hear my first track is still causing hassles! Sorry i couldn't make it for this one, but would like to attend the next and maybe we could nut some more tracks out for you. (only if you need them) Glad all went fairly smoothly and can see Marc has turnened to taking out people instead of his bike? Al

So, does this mean the Fumina ride is now run by Eric?

Thanks Eric for putting on a good day out.
And thats what it was a damm good day out on a trailbike.
Conditions were perfect, the pace was good,The variaty of trails were spot on for this level.
But most of all the copmany was excellent and that rates above all else.
It's just a pity you didn't meet that bus load of Swedish backpackers at the top of Al's hill Grin
Being hit in the chest by out of control CRF450 is one of those stories that make this hobbie all the more enjoyable.

Fumina is now run by Eric. Dr Brad came along and run away till the end of the year? (soft) Eric's ride was a ride ive only done a couple times with friends and never run as an Amtra ride. I hope he runs it again as we need more ride leaders, and if i can help him with a few tracks on the next one, the same as Dr Brad. Then i maybe able to retire and just get back to enjoying riding instead! Eric a bit more notice next time and i will be along to assist if you want it or will just tag along. Al

It is within a Vic members area that public forum members are not able to access.
