Title: Fumina Members Ride June 22, 2013 Post by: Tim Dykes on June 23, 2013, 12,54:03 AM Well you know when a good Fumina ride has gone down, nobody rushes home and posts it up on the website the same day... they are all too stuffed :) Yet again another good day out, great conditions, excellent group, one no spark KTM, one puncher. All got along well given some of the obstacles. Finished with 121km on the trip meter. Then a feed at the Noojee pub for four of us. Thanks Al and the support crew for the day. Now to go and wash the bike and gear... Title: Re: Fumina Members Ride June 22, 2013 Post by: Tony H on June 23, 2013, 02,08:55 AM Fumina is an area with plenty of interesting places to work on technique. Loved that little dilapidated bridge and the other obstacle's, especially the larger logs.
Thanks for the effort Al. Well organised, great rider group and fantasic support- thanks Bob, Shaz & Coop's. This ride is a good example of why I joined AMTRA. Just looked at my bike and have half of Fumina still attached, better get to work scrubbing it clean for the next ride. Title: Re: Fumina Members Ride June 22, 2013 Post by: Gary Clarke on June 23, 2013, 07,54:12 AM Thanks Al for a great ride, had to laugh when your bike fell through the 1/2 stuffed rickety bridge, hopefully Johnny got some pics, you certainly know your way around fumina, big thanks to Shaz, Cooper and Bob for helping out with te fuel drop and KTM recovery.
Cheers Gary. Title: Re: Fumina Members Ride June 22, 2013 Post by: johnny d on June 23, 2013, 08,18:34 AM Well what can I say-- Fumina? hmmmm Al your playground is friking awesome, I have had a couple of goes at getting out there for a ride,,but things haven't quite gone my way.. :D.. I must say that I was a little bit uncertain about what to expect (Al did say I would be) he was right :), the tight tracks were an absolute blast, that bridge-thing or whatever you want to call it was interesting to say the least ;), the overgrown (did I say overgrown) log infested, bike swallowing track was a hoot, I did get tripped up on a wet slippery branch at about 30 degrees to the track and down I went, must have twisted the bars/forks in the triple clamp as the rest of the track to the regroup was a mind f@#k with bars on a funny angle. :o,
the rest of the ride was 100% first class with a mix of everything ,,a nice rutted, slippery down hill towards the end -complete with photographers- was bloody awesome! To top the this great day out on the bikes was that last 10 k ride back to the trailers in the fading light,, following that trail of bright tail lights and the dismal glow of our candle powered headlights was fantastic. Thanks so much Al for the time and effort you have obviously put in to making sure we have a great ride.. Thanks to Alex for morning Tailman and thanks to Jeff for afternoon Tailman,, big thanks to everyone who came along and made this ride what it was --Awesome....... Least but not last thankyou to Coop, shaz and BoB ;D ;D- mmmmm a nice hot coffee at lunch time...................... Title: Re: Fumina Members Ride June 22, 2013 Post by: alex peacock on June 24, 2013, 12,02:49 AM Thanks Al great day out .Tims counter tea at the Noojee pub was good also. Home via robinhood and fwy a bit quicker and no fog thanks everyone
Title: Re: Fumina Members Ride June 22, 2013 Post by: simonj on June 24, 2013, 01,36:55 AM Thanks Al, Really enjoyed the day - great tracks, and the ride flowed nicely. Had one small fall but no-one saw it, and have a couple of well-bruised fingers from punching a tree. Put my little folding Bahco saw to work a couple of times, worked a treat - well worth carrying ... beats turning back because of a few fallen branches. Thanks Bob and Shaz for towing the trailer and putting on the hot coffee at lunch and after the ride. It's the little extras that make the day! Cheers, Simon J.

Title: Re: Fumina Members Ride June 22, 2013 Post by: Alwr on June 24, 2013, 04,03:25 AM Cheers everyone for the kind words!!!
Saturday was a very good reminder why i love Fumina and putting rides on there. The group traveled very well with the couple bike issuses that needed to be dealt with on the day. I made it through the day with only a nose first fall through a semi bridge like struture and one very low speed and graceful lay down, both with quite large audiences. I was actually suprised how many times i had to wait for a courner man to catch me rather than be overtaken for the day. It was good to have a group of twenty plus riders want to enjoy my ride with me, with the joy of just riding where i wanted and no map. And like Pete said to me at the end of the last photo opertunity track when he walked up to see where i planned to take the group."Good to see Al's got his sense of humor back!!", cheers Pete. You were right. The 6 of us that did the last blast home in the fading light, that was an awsome, flowing hoot home. But at least you buggers had tail lights to follow!!! I post up some pics when i get a chance. Thanks to Shaz, Grasshopper and Coops for their efforts and standing around in the artic conditions so we could enjoy the the day. And to Alex and Jeff for tailman duties for the day. Also for everyone else who came out to have fun with me, Al Title: Re: Fumina Members Ride June 22, 2013 Post by: nathanstott on June 24, 2013, 05,41:34 AM Thanks Al for putting the ride on, I had a great day, I even provided Johnny and Nicko with some entertainment while they were sitting on a corner waiting for the dead KTM to be rescued!
Thanks Bob, Shaz and Cooper for support duties and thanks to Alex and Jeff for Tail Title: Re: Fumina Members Ride June 22, 2013 Post by: Alwr on June 24, 2013, 11,27:24 AM SOME PICS

Title: Re: Fumina Members Ride June 22, 2013 Post by: Timmers on June 25, 2013, 08,29:18 AM The bridge was broken before I rode over it, it looks fast because I rolled on to it quick and backed off the throttle so I would go ass up. On the slippery mossy timber.
