It was a great ride and a fun day. I am happy to say that I did not lie down at all on the nasty, slippery, green clay downhill... but it was challenging to remain mobile and upright. Not all of us did and one fella received a puncture wound to his shin just above the top of his boot. Good knee guards would have prevented this injury - so lesson learned. The guy continues to ride for the rest of the day. Here are a few shots at the scene.

...and now for some ride pictures at the creek crossing at the start of the day.

This nest one is of me and I'm happy that I was caught as one of the few standing up for the crossing - it does make it easier.

And one final one of Ride Leader Brad in a rut, but not stuck!

To add a few words of thanks and appreciation.  It was not actually my first time out in over a year, as I went out for a couple of hours last weekend, but my first official full ride.   However I chickened on the first river and hill, just thought I did not want to push my luck to early in the day.
Didn't do the slippery down hill very well, but did do the engine off using the clutch as a brake trick, until fear took over and I let Zeb do the last bit. The big bog hole on Rouch road challenged most of us.
It was a great day for my debut back into riding, and I thank all those there for their patience and understanding.
I am forever indebted to the club and its membership for their continuing support and encouragement.
Thank you one and all for a great day.

From a medical point of view, after over a year of poor or almost nonexistant healing of my broken bone, nature has finally decided to do what it is supposed to do.  The bone growth over the last month or so has been much improved, for no obvious reasons except that I have been pushing much harder on the treadmill and exercise bike etc.  Coincidence perhaps but current exrays are vastly improved.

That's good news Phil and I see Zeb has conquered the water.

That slippery down hill you are talking about, I think we went up that one, so if ya reckon it's hard going down, try going up, I reckon it's a level 4/5 hill.

Thats bloody great news Phil,I'm going for a easy ride at Abby yard at the weekend I hope to see ya there brother, are ya up for a coffee to-morrow arvo.

Falling off doesn't hurt, it's the sudden stop that does the damage.

Thanks for another top ride Brad.
I stripped apart the carbie and there was blotches of mud everywhere so that explains why it didnt want to start in a hurry. Special thanks to those who helped me get it going again.
