It's been a while between trail rides for me so I decided to get motivated (read new years resolution) and be a starter for AL's Fumina ride. 30 odd riders fronted for a level 1/2 tour of some of AL's less challenging repertoire of tracks, I was happy with my 11 litre/80km effort. Try Al's winter time clubman ride in this area if your game enough to ride the challenging tracks.
Despite the dust nuisance the whole group flowed along very well all day with no one requiring a helicopter ride out or hurting themselves, fortunately.
Shaz, Marls and Bob great riding ladies in the dusty conditions.
Everyone enjoyed themselves thanks to Al good planning and expert track knowledge.

One of the many regroups, great to catch with old friends and new

Lynton, Phil and Ken enjoying the day

Well with a ride list that peaked at 47.
Then fell to 36 expected on the day.
Then to the 30 that fronted up.
Thanks to all those that come, the day seem to flow very well for the size of the group and with a few of the intentional and un-intentional challenges the day brought. I will admit that the dust wasn't to much of a problem at my end of the group  Grin
Also it was great to be able to lead a ride for most of the day and have a great bunch of riders to stop and help out where needed, keeping the group flowing.
Well done to those who pushed themselves, with no short cuts or easy options been needed all day. And a ride with no injuries, no break downs, no punctures was unbelievable with that size group. I rolled back to the car with 108k on the speedo, which I reckon was close to the 110k I predicted.
Thanks to all and Zeb and Johnny for tailman duties all day!!!
Al

Ps. Thanks to Freddo and Tess for guarding the cars all day.

Doesn't get mentioned much but people that go to the trouble to take photos and spend the extra time to post them up really are legends , as they say 1 picture is worth a thousand words.

For example have a look at Kens face , if you could add a caption what would it say ?

Great day Al, as always. Great that you organized it nice and cool and for the sun to come out just before we got back to the cars. Couple of loose canons in the group, but you'd expect that. Soooo different from riding in the wet.

I think Ken would be thinking "Where am I, what's my name and why are you taking my photo ?"

Thanks for putting on another great ride Al – I thoroughly enjoyed the day. The weather was kind and things ran very smoothly considering the size of the group.

Also thanks to Nathan for leading us on the more challenging bits (they were a blast!), and to Zeb & Johnny for being our tailmen – hope the dust kicked up from the other 28 riders wasn’t too bad back there.

What a great day- that would have to be one of the best days I have ever had on the bike.
The weather was perfect...I think we thought it was going to warm up...and it did....after the ride...so well done Al for the weather conditions. Grin
My day was just full of laughs...the only real whoopsie I had has resulted in a huge bruise on the back of my thigh from when I dropped the bike and landed sitting up right on said fallen bike....hence one foot peg, straight into the thigh...OUCH  Shocked...Zeb found this very amusing as he sooked about his sore thumb...or as he would say...broken..the sook  Tongue...however Marls went out sympathy for me so we both had a lie down together...then Zeb just threw his arms up in the air...conceded defeat and lay down with us...Thank goodness Nick was there to regain some normalcy to the whole situation  Cheesy.

I had fun "assisting" Peter Ross with a Log Jump....its ok mate...I've got your back!
Some of the erosion mounds and hills took me a little by surprise but fantastic for me to practice all I have learned...and I must say by the end of the day they weren't freaking me out as much...so that has to be a good thing. Grin

Every regroup was hilarious as usual as all you guys and gals are just great to be out there with...there is always going to be someone to poo stir or encourage and just make your day that bit better.
Nathan got to experience the wonder of the butterfly TTR 230...I think he appreciated this experience...cheers for your help Nath...I definitely appreciate it Grin

Just a shout out for Shaz....gee she rode well..im really happy for her as she has really come along and is enjoying her riding so much more. Grin Grin Grin

Oh and just a tip for everyone...stay away from black berry bushes...bloody things!!  Cheesy Waving to Seano  Tongue

I did have a giggle as I came to an obstacle on the track and discovered having a lay down in the bushes was my li'l riding buddy Marls...see attached pics....what you doin down there Marls??

Thanks everyone for a really top day out....

Zeb and Johnny for all day tail duties...(and if I can just say im proud of me too as I barely saw Johnny all day...which means I was in amongst the pack a bit - so a bit happy with my riding) Grin

Nick for tail stint when Johnny tailed Nathans loops - your a very patient man ...unlike Zeb  Shocked Roll Eyes Grin...joking Zeb.  Wink in all seriousness though....if you get in strife then Zeb is certainly someone you want to have there with you...he will do anything to help...Thanks mate  Grin

Phil and Ted for being the gentlemen that you are  Smiley

Nathan for his help - even though it was just an excuse to ride my bike..yeah im onto it  Grin

To my gal team Marls and Shaz...love being out there with you 2 xxx

Darren and Tony for photos....I usually take a heap, but must say I just I didnt this time..

To Peter Ross and Seano....the rock crossing saviours  Grin

John T and folks for the help getting over that big tree  Grin

Freddo and Tess for car park duties...

oh and there was an injury for the day:

Bullant : 1
Freddo : nil.....

And last but certainly not least AL MASON......YAY YAY YAY.....Thank you so much for putting this ride on....I laughed all day, sooked once - justifiably (have a bruise to prove and yes will milk it for sympathy  Grin)
I enjoyed my riding and what I was able to accomplish for the day...I wanna go again!!!!!!!

So thanks for the fun..and to you guys who again ride past me and encouraging me with your Woo hoo...onya Bob...or your well done Bob cheers...Lefty and Tony H especially...you guys really do know how to boost the confidence...
And my best guy out there...Johnny D...as usual he is encouraging and supportive and will always boost my confidence ...and tell me to shut up when I talk too much  Shocked..

That's it from me...till next time...thanks everyone....luv Bob Smiley
