What an Awesome day to be on the bike. First off we headed to do Frankies 7 mile track, took us about 1 1/2 hrs to do the 7 miles. Dennis, myself and Garry and Dustin got to the other end within an hr but had to wait for the rest to get through the crap. A lot of tiered looking blokes for just 1 1/2 hrs into the ride. We then did the steep rocky staircase out of 7 mile track and into th very tight overgrown track and then back onto the un named tracks which lead back to the latrobe river road opposite Carrolls lane. What was supposed to be a quick regroup turned out that Seano had a flat. Seamed like it took forever for the last four to arrive but was probably about 1/2hr. We then headed up  Spike Tk and into the bog hole tracks and worked our way to the far end of Whitelaws, set corner man and set corner at Sawdust and up to top end of Staircase unused track and put Tickets on the corner and headed down to the end of the staircase and Dennis Mark, Peter and I again seamed to be waiting forever, So I headed off to find out what was going on, Rossi now tail and Bill had sunk there bikes into a bog hole upto the axles and could not free them. Back to the group and eventaully they turned up one by one. Straight over the road for a cruise around a unused very overgrown loop track. out of there and into another but much longer and then into another were about 1/2 way up Sawdust Heap I had a bit of a moment with a slippery root, of I came landing on my RH shoulder. Boys got me back to a better bit of Sawdust were I was able to ride slowly back to the cars seeing most of the group racing off ahead. Thanks to everyone for the support and help getting back to the cars and for Mat driving me to Dandy Valley Private Hospital and then back to the Robin Hood for dinner with most of the boys. And then for him and James bringing me home and unloading for me. Turns out  I dislocated my RH shoulder which they put back in after knocking me out. Garry will have to fill you in on the arvo as he took over for me. We will complete my loop in a few weeks when my shoulder is all good so stay tuned the guys who where on todays ride for another day. Will

Since I got the kato 300, I really look forward to get out on it, the week went bye fairly quick leading up to this ride, I woke up a few times through the night & finely got up at ten past 5 picking Wayne Vandenberg up on the way, thinking we had plenty time up our sleeves decided to call in at the BP for a coffee, just as well I drank the coffee on the way, when we pulled into the unloading area everybody was already there Huh not much time to chat with everybody, after gearing up I thought I better start the bike up, it fired up with one kick & then stopped, wtf, after kicking it a few times Wayne could see me getting a bit tired, so he kicked it for a while, as he was kicking it, Mat casually walks over & pulls out the exhaust plug Huh two more kicks it fired up, the smile came back on my face, while waiting for our ride leader to get ready I rode around the car park to clear it out ready to hit the trails, all's good until we were ready to go, kick,Kick,Kick, Cry then Wayne came to the rescue again with no luck, then seano kicked his guts out, still wouldn't come to life, then James took over, after a couple of kicks he looked to see if the choke was still on, he then noticed that the fuel tap was turned off Huh after turning it back on it then fired into life, yeah my smile came back to me.

Nobody owned up to turning my fuel tap off Roll Eyes

I had a ball, that 300 gets better & better to ride every time I get out on it, it brings back the young fella in me,on the down side, Will came down & dislocated his shoulder,When this sort of thing happens it reminds ya how easy it is to hurt your self, I hope to see ya back on the bike soon mate.

I would like to thank everybody for another great day out on the bike, where's the next one..............oh yeah cheynes bridges to Huggetts crossing,.....yeah bring it on.

Thanks heaps for organising the ride Will - I had a great time and got suitably hardened up! Sorry I missed you at the pub, but I was getting rather drowsy after the meal, and didn't want to fall asleep at the wheel on the way home.

Frankie's track didn't disappoint - It was just as horrible as you described!!! I am so glad that I made up a 'tugger' strap last week, as it cerainly got a workout.

Hopefully I can get to the 'Part B' ride in July - Frankie sounded most distraught that those tracks that you both had cleared weren't going to be used.

Thanks too to Gary for taking the lead in the arvo. There was a great mix of faster whooped-out tracks and tight stuff where the bark-busters were getting a rattling. The pace flowed well and as the daylight began to wane we almost had to drag Gary back to the cars as he was obviously enjoying himself and didn't want to stop.

After  Will and Matt left for the hospital I took over the job of ride leader, we took the track from the car park to Lizards then Sawdust Heap just to get everyone warmed up again , then on to my favourite narrow trail loop, it’s a sweet track with sandy burms and a lot of logs to cross, that finishes with a small rocky creek crossing , with a few riders looking a bit worse for ware we took transport tracks to the south fence line track , then on to Sweetwater Creek  , the bog holes and then the level 1 rocky hill, on to Stoll then Tree Extension Track, at this point Franky was giving me a decent run for my money, couldn’t let him pass me so dropped him on a corner that I would have normally left un manned, “sorry Frankie Boy “ , by this time it was getting late so we headed back to the cars, and on to the pub.
Thanks  Dr Rossi for arvo tail man, and all the riders for making it a great day.
Watching Will trying to eat his steak at the pub only using his left hand topped off the laughs for the day!
Cheers, Gary.
