Well myself, Pommy Mat and James and Rossi hit the trails early this morning to do a coarse pre ride. We met at the unloading area at 7am and hit the trails at 7.30am. The plan was to do as much of the coarse as we could by lunch time. Mat had to pull the pin after just 30 klms with a rear wheel which  was loosing it's spokes big time. We continued on and managed to do about 1/2 the route covering about 70klm. Neerim was the wettest I have ever seen it with a lot of the clay was just a mush, we got up everything except for Hard up haul and the stair case as these were just 2 wet and slippery.
I must say how impressed I am with the Dunlop geomax51 which I just put on the rear, it is just Foooking excellent giving me  much better traction in the slop than the Michy S12 ever did, if you are looking for a new tyre to try give one of these a crack.
Anyway what was nice whilst we were out and about was to meet Marc L and Daryl Clarke out on the trails, we found Marc sitting on top of a snotty hill smiling like the cat that got the mouse and he told us Daryl was down the bottom of the hill, anyway after a quick chin wag we set of down the hill to find Daryl stuck 3/4 the way up so James got of his bike and gave him a helping hand over some roots and he was off. We continued on our way and when we got back to the car park we met up with a couple of our other members Bill and Dennis and when Rossi and I went for lunch to the Robin Hood we met up with them and one of there mates so we had some good bench racing to top the day off. I have just started wearing a Omega neck brace so I will post up after I have the adjustments spot on what I think of this little beutty also. took a bit to get use't too but did not feel hot wearing it today but need to get the placement right on my neck as were it was sitting it was digging in too much, anyway will keep you's posted.

Falling off doesn't hurt, it's the sudden stop that does the damage.

Yep, Weak, we had a good morning out, had to wash our boots of a couple of times in the creeks, forgot to mention them did'nt I, normal gullys had creeks running through them this time as it was so wet, not raining but down hills had rivers running down them, had one swim in a bog hole much to James and Rossi's pleasure, and we were home in time to watch the GP. Next time listen to me you old fart and throw a leg over and get out there instead of sooking at home, I hope she made you work your lazy rear end off all weekend. Will

Clarkey & I came accross Will & the boys a couple of times throughout the morning. I concur with Will, I have been riding Neerim for 5+ years & have NEVER seen it this wet. After 3 attempts (left, reight & middle) with no traction, I also gave up on Hard Up Haul trk. For those who start from Gunn Rd like we did, the creek / raging torrent could not be crossed at either of the first 2 crossings..... We had to follow Gunn rd all the way to end then turn left into Old Telegraph Rd just to get into the forest !!!!
