Real Women Ride Dirt Bikes !

« on: August 29, 2011, 08,10:36 AM »

Thought I would get the ball rolling as no one else has.

WOW is the way to describe this ride – best I have done in a long time and a bloody great bunch of GUYS to ride with !!

Where to start ?  I would like to say thanx to Sean for leading a wicked ride – loved every second and I was really in my riding grove on Saturday, bench racing with Patrick (dirtpilot) and the cute guy on the Husky 2T with the neck brace( sorry can’t remember all your names .. to many people I meet on Saturday for me to remember ).

Loved the last track I rode with the fella on the Yammy YZ 250 2T – we jumped the massive tree instead of going around, I launched my bike over the whole tree in one go but then got stuck on a little branch on the other side – dam what fun !!!  Then Mr YZ250, Patrick and myself raced back – but I over shot a “go around” and they beat me !!! NOOOOOOO  Dam !!!  Next time Boys  Cheesy

Sorry to Seano for us taking off after a stop – we did not realise you where there ( remember I don’t know you and only knew you’re crazy helmet – that you where not wearing when I looked ! ) sorry about that – honest mistake.  We where a bit throwen off by Ted? – riding off up the track. ( you will see on the Vid )

Was great to see Steve ( Grandpa ) – you are such a darling, many thanx to you and the 2 boy’s on the Honda’s CRF’s for helping lift, drag and pull out bikes through THAT narrow track ...   And loved the blast on your rocket 150 Husky 2T, blimey that thing is like a wasp !!

My hubby also had a great day – we both have not ridden much this year at all so was great to get out on a ride and blow out the cobwebs.

I was the only Chick on this ride and the only one riding a Kwakka !  I did all the L2 options and loved it !!

Sorry I talk so much .... but that’s me

I am now an AMTRA member and look forward to riding heaps more with this great club.

 Cheers

Emma ( Yazza )

P.S – I have a Vid and Pics that I will post up soon

I started the day with a meet and greet at the sands road servo with Rossi,Brad and Zeb at around 6:30 am .We got to Vesper rd Noojee around 7:15 ,a quick gear up and off we wen't for a morning survey of some of the front tracks before the crowd arrived. Now back at the cars by 8:45 to find 19 others waiting eagerly for a ride leader. To look at this many faces stearing at you cos your the man , i was a bit nervous at first but this soon passed ,with a quick briefing we were under way with Grandpa as the 1st off tail of the day and 18 degrees with blue skys the weather was perfect. So we hit the first lot of tracks ,nice fairly dry with the odd puddle here and there well flowing with a good amount of twists and turns as well as ups and downs and a sprinkle of erosion mounds in which to have the odd launch or two.

Now at the first re group point and everybody arrived shortly after ,good nobodys struggling and groups flowing well,I decided to split L1 s with me L2s with Dr Brad as lead and Rossi as tail.Off we go round some tracks simmilar to the first then a 5 miute wait for the L2s to arrive .With them arriving now we're all back together again so off we go for more of the same of the first lot of tracks.

After a while we reach the next regroup point once again the crowd seemed to be flowing well so I decided no more splits everyone is quite capable ,so off we go again with more of the flowing trails to the end onto the dirt road for a k or so and back in the bush again for a 4wd trail that hasn't been used for a while, at the end of this I waited to see how we were flowing now .Some wanted to park at the top of the hill just above the small 4wd drive track so I said ok but dont go to far .After 5 minutes or so I look around and all who were at the top of the hill are now gone,I stoped the rest of the crew there and went in seach of the rest to find them at the next intersection. Huh Angry$#@%^&* wait here I'll go back and get the rest.

Soon after were back together all accounted for and off we go again ,up the road into some more small 4wd trails back out , up wild bull another fast flowin, on gowin and yehahin trail with a regroup at the end to make sure we're all there.Quick count and swap tail from grandpa to Emma,we're off again down the road cross the intersection into a nice erosion mound full down hill ,hook a right down the road a couple a k,s into allawarra whoo hoo this is fast and forever going. Pull up for a regroup ,about 12 of us there when news arrives that theres a break down at the last regroup.UM UM what to do,ok we all go back again to work whats up.

Now back with the rest of the the group ,all present the problem bike fixed(fowled spark plug)three depart the other twenty of us decide to lunch. With grub in our tummys and a reshcedule of the direction we hit a road section to our next trail down this for a bit ,a quick discussion with brad and yeah ok i will go down that trail , very very small 4wd trail with lets say some very intersting obstacles but after half hour to 45 minutes or so we all got through that 3 klm section so alls good .

Whith some very weary looking faces we headed for home back up most of the morning section trails where nick took over tail. As we were almost back to the cars and the time was only 2;45 a unanomous vote was taken to go play on the slippery red clay hill , with a handful of us trying to get up this thing it made good viewing for the rest of crew .WE played for 30 minutes or so till we had enough,we headed home arriving back at the cars around 3:30.after 15minutes still no sign of a few ,turns out the sparkplug demon was back again but it was sorted quickly .With numbers counted and everybody back at the cars i could now relax.Just for laughs Dr Brad had a little dismount as his bike shot off the side othe trailer ramp and he hit the deck ,this ended the riding for the day over and out.  REALLY BIG THANKYOU TO MY HELPERS  and fellow riders I had a hoot and hope you all enjoyed your day too.Bye for now SEANO Cool

Good onya Cam & Yazza, great vid !!

Top job Seano, thanks for an enjoyable day on the trails.

We'll have to get serious with that greasy clay hill next time.......... 5psi in the rear hit it hard !!! ( hopefully a bit earlier in the day ... )

Oh,a big well done to old mate ( sorry cant remember names) on the dr650 with worn out road/trail tyres. That was a big effort to muscle the big dinosoaur around on the greasy trails. I predict a visit to bike shop in the near future  !!!

See ya all next time.

Thanks Sean for putting on a fantastic ride.
This to date was probably the best and most demanding ride I have been on. That boggy, slippery, rutty, over logs, under logs, into logs, around logs trail certainly had me beat at times. Thanks to all who helped push, pull and get 20 odd riders through the Kokoda trail of dirt riders.
I really enjoyed that steep erosion mounded track we had to go back up to find the others. Heaps of air and fun for a L1 rider.
Thanks again and looking forward to the next one.

Well done Seano, my third ride with the club and by far the best.  Great bunch guys and gals.  Half way along that narrow track I was thinking maybe I should have left after lunch with the other 3 I was rooted!!!

Touch wood the crf started first time every time!

I took a video but its going to take a few days to work out what to do with it  Cheesy

A great mix of tracks for the ride, some slow and tight, others fast and flowing, and the weather was perfect!

This was my second ride on the YZ, and I'm starting to get the hang of it now (although you wouldn't think so when looking at me spluttering slowly up that red clay hill in the video! Cheesy).

Had a great day's riding, and went home with a smile on my face - thanks guys!  Smiley
