I usually organise my rides for Saturday, but as Paul Lacy had come down from Sydney for Al's Fumina ride, Paul asked me if i could take him out for a spin at Mt Dissapointment, so Sunday Level 2 ride was on. There's not many riders that want to try Mt Dissapointment's Megga Hills & High Speed, but 5 of us opted to give it a go. Cam was running a bit late , so i took the boys out for a Quick 30 Minute work out, up a hill that have no Dirt & no Loose Rock, just pure Rock!! This one hill in particular is known to totally wreck your Plastics and Muffler " and i have hit the Deck quite a few times over the Years". Anyway John and i managed to get to the top and waited for Matt & Paul to join us for the loop back to the cars to pick up Cam, we waited of 5 Min and decided to go back down to see how they were going, Paul had enough and went back down, Matt had another go at the Last 150 Mtrs but the Rock Ledges decided to stop him in his tracks, then we rode back to the Cars to pick up Cam.
We ended up leaving the Cars around 11.00 and rode for about 5 minutes, then Cam found out that you NEED Front Brakes when Trail Riding, when he looked down to see The Front Brake Caliper flopping around it the Breeze "He forgot to Tighten the 2 Bolts that hold it to the Forks when he swapped from Motard to Dirt, lucky Matt had some at the Car.
Off again and wide open for Lunch at Strath Creek, as the Tracks are now clear of Trees from Black Saturday. As we headed for Lunch there was one section where there is a Long Puddle and i didn't see it till the last Few Seconds, with John Hot on my tail, i slowed a bit and realised that i might end up will John Slamming into me, so i lifted the front Wheel and Gassed it through and looked back to see john just coming out of the Wave " Video Below".
Last time i was there, the Creeks were 3 Feet high and flowing fast, not this time, the Creeks were down to a trickle, and most of the tracks had a fine dust on them just right for good Power slides.

After Lunch we took the Tar up to Broadford Gap and went in the top way onto the Forest, cam had a Clutch Slipping problem that we fixed in a couple of Minutes, and we pretty much road around for 2 Hrs all over the Place and decided to call it a day, so we could see the last laps of Bathurst.

No injuries, couple of fixable problems,Good Weather and a good group of rider.

Thanks Matt & Paul for doing Tailman, John for Helmet Video and Cam For BEING LATE!!!

Riders:
Peter R FE570
Paul L  FE390 Tail
Matt R  WR450 Tail
Cam     WR250 Falls Apart
John T  TE510 Helmet Cam.

How to Keep Dry whilst following someone at speed through Long Puddles !!

Dissa ride what can I say
Day started with 4 riders no mucking around straight in to it

Peter took us to a hill disguised a sky ladder,
Peter I and visited god Matt and Paul tried but didn’t make it to the pearly gates and was sent back to earth.
After a short loop we went back to collect Cam, then we went back to collect Cam’s front brake calliper bolts.
The rest of the day went as per plan off the strath creek for lunch.
We met up with some high country ride punter so we asked them if they wanted a navigation or arrowed coarse they were in favour of the arrows 100%
After lunch  fast open trails couple of puddles few hills few rocks
Great day top bunch of rides another well paced group two in a row can it any better than this.
And catching with Paul L bonus didn't have drive to NSW.
If you are reading this and want to see more check out some of our cam footage.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Beer in one hand - throttle in the other - body thoroughly used up,totally worn out and screeming what a ride

This was a great day out with a lot of laughs along the way and great riding. Some really great challenging tracks and some nice open flowing stuff.

Thanks Knackers for a great day and couple of nights  Grin.
The Berg has a few more scratches and scrapes thanks to the abundance of rocks on some of those tracks. If I could keep it on its wheels a bit more often, I wouldn't have that problem.

Great to see Mr T again and laugh my guts out.

Next time, I want a proper clubman ride though! OK.

Cheers

Here's a video of an Easy Hill Climb at Mt Dissapointment.
If you put it on Full Screen and Stand Back about 2-3 Mtrs from the screen, you get a better idea about how steep this hill is.

Peter,
Have a look at the post now what you do is click on the Youtube icon and then insert your web link between the two Youtube sets of bracketed fields. Its done in the same way you bold text or make it larger.

Nice work Pete! It will be great the day someone invents the camera, that truly shows of the steepness and chamber of a hill! I find the best way is to stick the people who cant work it out in the cruzier and head up or down the said hill. When the stop screaming, asking if im f'n nuts and calling me all sorts of nasty things, they seem to understand for ever more!!!! Al

It's Funny how when you watch the Video it all looks like a Walk in the Forest, until you ride these Steep Hills. This one has caught me out on Few occasions, but i love a good Hill Climb, even if i end up Rolling down the Bast ard and having a good Laugh about it!!
