Thanks for a good day out Phil & Co.

Nice to see you doing some exploring Phil with a gnarly downhill thrown in for a challenge, loved it all.

And It was SOOOOOO good to get back on the bike after waiting 10 months, pity the bike wasn't so keen with the elec starter deciding to go on strike.

Well! that is another one come and gone.  Rounded the year off nicely.  Absolutely perfect weather, mild sunshine, a bit of rain during the week, with the tracks almost dry and very little dust.
We ventured to the top of the triangle, not a lot of takers for the challenge loop so thought I would try them on Ures Spur. It is one of the best tracks in the area and it did not let us down, a bit more broken rock than last time I was there, but fast and technical non the less.   A bit further north and into Barrys Track for a rocky blast and time for some more exploring.  It is simply years since I have done Jacksons Break. It used to be pleasantly undulating with a rocky hill of rounded granite boulders.  Actually it still is but the undulating bit didn't take long and the boulders go on for ever. The second half over Keltys was more of the same then the return via Olgas was fast and priceless.
But it was getting on for lunch time. Down Robbies, back along Project and up my slippy track, now dry and nothing like why I named it that way.
Buxton was closer than Marysville, so burgers it was, though I will stick to my pie and coffee. Ken and a couple of others left early. After that the day got a bit ugly, the local constabulary flashed his lights at us and two of the riders have bits of paper for rec reg on the highway, and he was visibly not pleased with the couple of riders who raced off into the bush.
Back in the triangle to finish the day, Chris wanted to see the Woods Lookout hill and excelled himself by making it to the top. Again, it is ages since I have been there and it hasn't changed much. So with them in the mood for challenges I took them down, with difficulty, the only other real pain, the rutted out slippery mess that has been unchanged for years. Even the 4 x 4s have stopped using it, and that could be a bonus in disguise. However, no takers to go back up!!, and it was actually quite dry.
It had started to threaten rain, so that was the signal to go.  I have had one of my best days ever, the group has been perfect and the tracks exceptional, except for the rocky sections. No spills worthy of reporting, no breakdowns except for Kens starter, but then he had a kickstart, so that was a bit of a non event. Wiggy's new toy performed as he had hoped.
Thank's fella's for a great day, hope to see you all next year.

Phil, thanks for a wonderful ride, yes it was soooooo good, conditions perfect, all the bikes kept going and no major problems. Those challenge tracks were great, incredible how much water was running through the small challenge track. Looking forward to next  time.
