OK I'll start it! Great ride although the tracks were a little limited due to recent fires. I clocked up just under 400Km's as the group I was with did a warm up ride to Craig's Hut on Friday.

I'll add to this.

I had a great ride overall.
We arrived on Friday at about midday, setup camp and settled in for the arvo. Went through scrutineering late in the arvo and all was good.

The ride an Saturday was great. There was a little bit of dust but nothing that couldn't be handled if you were prepared to back off and let people get some distance between each other. I loved the long rocky hill climbs and descents. The lunch break was great and I was pretty impressed to see the espresso van out on the trail.

I ended up sitting at the final river crossing for quite a while waiting for my riding buddy to catch up, turns out he had a flat and took about 45mins to get it fixed.

Watched about 1/2 dozen bikes go under the water.

Rode back to the camp and fueled up for the final loop which was much more flowing terrain and the single track sections were a bit of fun.

During the single track I came across a guy who was pinned under his bike and trapped by some logs that were laying across the track. He was hanging head first down the hill and couldn't move. Pulled the bike of him and got him out and he seemed OK which was lucky.

Finished the rest of the loop without any incidents.

The shower at the end of the day was magnificent as was the dinner at the end of the day. I stayed around and watched the big screen for a while but ended up crawling into the sleeping bag at about 9.30 as I was stuffed.

Up again at 7am and over for breakfast then ready to ride by 9am.

The loop on Sunday was a pretty good mix of terrain. The bituman was a bit of a bugger but couldn't be helped.

Finished the loop feeling completely satisfied with my weekends riding.

Back to camp to packup and load the car for the trip home.

Scott, my riding buddy was telling me all about his skill at loading the bike onto the trailer by riding it on for the entire weekend.

he ended up trying to demonstrate his skills when packing to go home. Needless to say, it did not go well. He rode on way to fast, the bike hit the end of the trailer and spat him straight of the side. He ended up landing fair on my plastic box full of camping bits and pieces and spreading them all over the hill. the bike ended up sitting completely upside down next to the trailer.

I am pretty sure I could be heard laughing through the whole campsite.

After that he carefully pushed the bike onto the trailer.

We packed up and drove home.

THE END.

I am already looking forward to next year.

A big thanks needs to go to the volunteers who organise this event.

Cheers,
Ash

Thanks for sharing, Ash.

It's always good to hear from the 'punters'.  It helps us to know that we're on the right track with how we run the event.
