The gods must have look favourably on our ride. Perfect weather, dry the day before allowing more track drying time. Light wind to move any unwanted dust & top tracks, roads & trails. Only one track we found a water hole that needed a ferry! But we easily found an alternative!

The whole days ride was planned & checked the week prior. With expert local knowledge it was fantastic to spend a whole day riding without doubling back & trying to decide where a challenging track might be!

The tracks were generally tacky, some of the challenging glassy red stuff saw us working hard...........hahaha.

We looped off towards the Warburton area, trying out a couple of what we graded as 3+ tracks, one aprox 4km long saw a heady mix of fast flowing overgrown sections followed by some hard work up hills that extracted the best from you on each section. In a couple of cases it was stop, run back down & try again before getting over them. The view from the top made it worthwhile to say the least.

About 80km in the morning & back at the cars we refueled and had a BBQ. Great to have a solid meal on a ride. ( Many thanks to Peter R & his mid day BBQ ideas, i adopted that straight of my first ride with him)

After lunch a brief watch of a local enduro event then back to the tracks, every planned track presented some fantastic rides, in the short video I included a bit we call the wall. After starting straight into aprox 1km up hill it flattens out & you think its going to be easy going, then just over a light rise you a treated to a rising wall of track that is a fantastic challenge.

Time allowed us to hit up a couple of extra fun tracks with some awsum water bars which was one of the highlights of the days ride.

After getting back to the cars we had done around 160ish Km for the day in perfect weather, no damage & so much fun we are still smiling.

We tried to grade the ride, before we left we thought level 2 but after discussion & seeing some other guys on the same tracsk we think the day would have been over level 2.

Hooking up another ride in the same area in a couple of weeks for anyone confident in their ability. Lunch stop so you can also refuel. Planned trip in a morning & afternoon loop. Guranteed to be challenging & fun. I will post a ride notice for those up for a a challenge.

Hope you like the short clip.

Cheers Pete  Tongue
