"As quoted by Fred...Boy's Day Out"Me & Bob rolled up & met the lads at Noojee & got geared up & headed off around & around & around & around & we finally made it to the pub 85km's, my bike only does 100k's & only 800mls of fuel in my backpack...this will be interesting. Had our big burgers & I thought to myself how am I (we) going to get back? No fuel at Reefton. As luck would have it, Brad stopped at an intersection; I think he was thinking the same thing, we're not going to make it, then out in the distance our knights in shining armour, appeared in the 'dustance' Pat Rose & Emma(Yarra Valley)who had just finished their ride, who offered to help us out with fuel...thanks guys, really appreciate it, we owe you one Yeh, can't wait for this to be a calendar ride; will do it again; just need more fuel. Here's a few pics. ...Fred "Now this is a rut ""Go Bob & his new Berg 450..Not So New Now""Paul on his second AMTRA ride on his Kato 250""Zeb, you look a bit knackered there""A Bit of a Rocky Struggle Section""Dr Brad""Thank's Mick for loaning me some fuel""Brad trying to do a trade in for the horse""Mark was first to run out of fuel"Thanks Brad for a great day out with the boys & to Gary for tailman duties...."THE END"

That Rocky section, where everybody's pushing their bikes, looks like hard work, you wouldn't get that on my L2 rides. Your a Hard Man Dr Brad!!!

Yep Peter quite right I know you look after the riders setting the ride to their abilities and conditions. No joke folks he is like a mother hen out there, just comes across a tad harsh on the web site from time to time but a heart of gold! This was optional and three riders did go around as it just loops back to the road. Stringybark track doesn't get a whole lot of use due to this section and is therefore popular with the local Wallabies, one of which hit the front of Dave Petfoff's Berg, scaring the daylights out of both. Dave's hands were shaking when we stopped on the next corner would have been ugly otherwise. Dave was unlucky here as myself, Dave and Mick were riding single file, I scared it out, Dave collected it and Mick watched it.

Nice photos Fred and good words. Great pick up on the horse trading, you see they don't need petrol and there is heaps of grass after all the rain I figured I would get back for sure on that steed. Anyway was not to be. Actually I noticed the rider was not confident and with the kids around I didn't want to start up 11 bikes and scare the horse so I was letting them know, the rider hopped down for safety and moved the kids away from the horse.

Thanks Brad for a great ride, nice pics Fred, Brad's quote of the day when asked how far back to the cars, "only about 1/2 hr or 15km !". Drained my tank when I got home and still had 1LT left, hopefully there will be a repeat of this ride but might carry a bit more fuel next time. Cheers, Gary.

Hey Brad, a very enjoyable day out riding! Thanks for putting it on. A great bunch of blokes to go riding with. Fuel was tight and I know there were times that it didn't seem like it, (You must have looked at that map at least 100 times!) but we had faith in you to get us back to the cars. Didn't have much in the way of overnight gear as the spare fuel containers took up most of the room in the backpack. The wallaby encounter was a close one for nearly taking a trip over the bars but luckily I just managed to straighten her up and after shaking itself the wallaby hopped away no problem and no damage done. cheers

Still had a litre to spare Gaz thats selfish you could have shared it around tisk tisk. We could have had like 100mls each Yeah and I agree with you Gaz "COMMON BRAD GOTTA REPEAT THIS RIDE, NEXT TIME WE WONT GET LOST" which means we wont have fuel issues , we need to go back to that rocky hill for the practice.

Saw you guys riding into Reefton,I was on Yarra Valley's ride. The tracks were excellent on the day,but got a bit worried when one of the riders came up and asked for 2t fuel while we were at the cars.I had a bit left in the tank, and was the only one with a 2t,it was just lucky Pat had a back up supply in his ute.

Hello Joe, 2T you say you must be a man with style what you riding ? It was a great day to ride and some of the tracks we found out that way were great and a heap of us cant wait to go back ..... And yes will take extra fuel next time around. Pat certainly saved the day for me , never would have thought a guy that rides a 4 stoker would carry 2T oil so i wont be buying lottery tickets any time soon . You an AMTR member if so get on a ride with us we need more two banger riders in the club
