OK THIS VIDEO NOW WORKS!Second part. Sorry there was not as much usable footage as I would have liked to make some better videos! NEXT TIME!!!!What a day! Awsum weather saw our little group of intrepid riders meet at three bridges.
Nice to meet some more AMTRA blokes. All great guys and apparently up for sum fun.
The ride saw us travel what seemed like 200 feet before our first hill. A fresh fire grade of soft red soil over rock & strewn with some patches of red ice! .
All of us ripped up the first & this wetted our appetite for more. A cornerman mistake saw a few of enjoy a jaunt up a dirt road. But we worked out the problem & returned to get on with some more trails.
The ride moved nicely for most, a patch of sticky red crap saw an excellent superman impersonation. No damage but it took three of us to unglue the front wheel.
The temp was around 24 deg now and we were all sweating. A little loop around some country homes and we broke onto a large uphill that had seen much better days! Hahaha this one made us all think about lines. Nathan on his Husky picked a great line towards the top. Mine found me sitting on a big rock followed by Daz Smith ( picture perfect formation)
While being a bit of work, this hill saw all the guys through, with some smiles at the end for being able to get all the way through.
SOme mountain bikers know to Chris on the RMZ were using the other end of this track as part of their down hill, latter in the day were found out one of these mountain bike guys perfected the superman impersonation we had tried earlier to emulate.
From here we picked one of nice single tracks local to the area. It was hot, slippery & a challenge for all of us. Some smart riders actually liked it! LOL some said they enjoyed the work out.....at this time I would mention George on the Honda. He was concerned at the start that he was going to slow us down. He worked bloody hard on all the tracks and after picking up a couple of tips, he applied them straight away and started handling some hills that were able to stop nearly everyone. Well done mate you earned that beer! LOL
This was the close to the mornings ride, due to the warm weather & some sore ribs after clearing the track........( David sore ribs McLeod..) We decided to transport straight back to lunch rather than continuing on some more hills.
Lunch was the usually assortment of tall tales, what ifs etc. But at least the lunch was earned. Most of the group decided to call the day quits so a few beers were passed around those who wouldnt be riding a second loop.
After lunch & goodbyes the remaining 4 of us headed into private property where many enduro events are held. A recent event saw tracks cleared & arrows up so it was open her up and head out for a blast. By now I was feeling less than fresh, so Chris on the RMZ, Luke on the KX & Nathan on the brand new Huskey showed me a clean set of heals. When I post up some video you will see how NOT to handle a front wheel washout LOL
We started heading out to some more large hills when Chris's RMZ showed some oil leakage around a bolt, unable to be repaired properly in the bush we decided to cruise back.......well at least until we found a nice up hill with flowing water bars....Hehehe.
The day finished well. I know I enjoyed my ride & the company of all those who came along. I look forward to catching up with everyone on the next ride.
Video up as soon as I put it together!
