Most of my riding has been up Dargo way but recently Neerim Sth and Anglesea (I live in Pt Cook). But am now wondering what lies closer to home? Is there much around Lerderderg, Bacchus Marsh, etc. or is the broader Wombat area the best bet? Any advice would be appreciated... Cheers Steve H :D '05 Husky 450 Title: Re: Wombat etc... Post by: Aaron on March 17, 2010, 11,03:05 AM Forget Lerderderg. It's pretty much closed. But there is endless tracks in wombat. You can start at the southern end from Carrols Lane or west at Blackwood. Heaps of tracks everywhere. It's a real hoot in the wet.
I have done rides in recent years, starting at Carrols Lane, and trying to make lunch at the Pig & Whistle Hotel in Trentham east(check that location). The publican is very friendly and does not mind the mud. When it's wet, I have waited 5 minutes for the first corner man to arrive. This is after riding about 90 meters. It can be carnage.
