Title: Robs Big River Blast!!
Post by: nathanstott on July 27, 2013, 08,54:58 AM
Wow what a ride!! Primo tracks all day! narrow technical tracks, flowing tracks, fire trails, bog holes, river crossings and one tough mother of a technical hill climb that only 3 people made it to the top of.

The weather was perfect all day and it wasn't long before I was regretting the decision to wear a sleeveless jacket as we were soon nice and warm thanks to Robs choice of tracks, at a rest stop I complained about my jacket and Clarky ever so graciously offered to put my jacket in his backpack! Thanks mate I appreciate it and its great to see you back out on the bike after a lengthy break due to illness.

We continued on and looped back to the cars for lunch and fuel, where time in the sun and something to eat was welcomed.
Luke pulled the pin at lunch time so six of us headed out to sample more of Big Rivers finest, and the tracks didn't disappoint!
I got stuck in a bog hole on the exit of a creek and Tim came to help me out, all the while sooking about getting his tootsies wet.

We pressed on having a bit of an explore and we headed down a slippery red clay track with a downhill rock section where I binned it pretty good and got stuck under my bike, Seano to the rescue! Thanks mate.

It was getting on a bit so we headed for the cars via some more great tracks and a ride down the tough mother of a technical hill.
We got back to the cars about 3.30 pm loaded up said our goodbyes and hit the road.

Thanks Rob for putting the ride on, it was awesome! Well done!
Thanks to Seano and Clarky for tail man duties and thanks to everyone for the fun and laughs.
I will be back.

Well said Nathan, another great day on the trails... Thanks to Rob for leading the ride, will definitely come along for your next one, this sort of riding is what it's all about! Rocky climbs, old overgrown logging tracks, creek crossings, a bit of fast open stuff with high-speed erosion mounds to jump off, slimy dark tracks down the gullies, fallen trees to get over, perfect! Great bunch to ride with too, everyone handled the terrain and the pace was excellent all day. Thanks again to Clarky and Seano for taking the tail. See you all next time! Cheers, Simon J.

Thanks Rob. Great to catch up again after a few years. Top riding terrain all day with challenge after challenge and a great variety of tracks. OK its a bit of a drive to get there but all worth it. Top blokes to ride with and everyone gave a hand when needed. The pace didn't stop on the bikes either - fun drive back down the winding road hey Tim !!

Yep! It was mint! Unreal single trials with plenty of hard logs and roots at ridiculous angles. There was a perla of a hill climb too!
Then there's the wide open fast paced tracks that reminded me of the high country!
I wouldn't of helped nath out of his bog hole if he didn't help me out of the one I launched into earlier in the day! Haha.
I will be definitely heading back for this unreal riding! Good to do some tough tracks again!

The first half of the drive home was unreal  as Clarky mentioned I think. We all still had a race faces on as we punched it down the mountain at speed that had my tires squealing and the old patrols brakes starting to get a bit spongy at the bottom.

Thanks again for the day fellas and rob for putting on a mint ride!
