Not sure why I picked this as my first ride with AMTRA but with a lvl 2 rating I thought it would be ok. I'm pretty much a beginner with a little experience so I thought why not jump in the deep end and give it a go.

Turned up and met Mark and the 2 other guys (sorry forgot your names - not sure if they were AMTRA members), unloaded and got some tips on bike setup which was great (thanks Mark).

We geared up while 15 other guys turned up to ride and about  50 d*ckheads in 4wd's rev'd around). Then we set off up the road about 100 mts then straight up the steepest hill i have ever seen.

Two of the guys went stright up, the 3rd half way up. Now Ive done some hill climbs before but not with that sort of mud and after 5 attempts and 2 flips (Mark was on his 3 ciggy I think Smiley, I was feeling way out of my depth and not feeling like a lvl 2 ride, I broke a gear lever and well that was it. 2hrs to get there and 15 mins riding then 2hrs to get home Sad

Not having a go at Mark cause he was great at helping at the start of the ride etc but made a few questions on riders grade and a little less challenging stuff in the first 5 mins to warm up would be a great help.

Anyway it has been a motivator, Ive changed some bike setup and set out to go back to that f'n hill and get up it!

Gee tough luck, I always think if it's rained ahead of the ride it goes up one level in skill.
Good on ya for having a crack though.  Wink

Giday David.
I was on that ride with you. (Rob yz2250f). If its any consolation, my first ride with AMTRA i came off big time & smashed my bars in half!
That hill was the biggest for the whole ride.
Ended up a good day (sorry mate) and got off the beaten track.

Catcha on another ride.
