Myself and a mate met Julian and a few other guys at the Calder Park BP before we headed of to the Cobaw Forest and met up with the ride Leader, Dave and few other blokes who had already been riding in Wombat that morning, and by the state of there rides we were in for a muddy trip...

Once we all got geared up and had the corner man talk we headed off for my first ride around Cobaw. Suprisingly, the tracks were very dry, there had been just enough rain to keep the dust down, so perfect conditions for riding. I am a newby to AMTRA and have done a couple of Marysville ride's, so it was great to expereince some new terrain, lots of rocky outcrops, ST, and some fast flowing stuff to stretch the legs of the 360.

We had about 20k's of trouble free riding (well I may have had a couple of little spills), before one of us got a flat. We all demounted ready for a bit of relax and before you knew it it had it off and changed, just to discover his spare had a hole as well, poor bugger! But didn't take long and we were off again. After about 35 k's Dave dropped a few of us off at the car park while Dave, Julian and a couple of others kept on going. Hope you guys had a blast!

We had a good array of bikes, I think there were 3 WR's, an XR250, CRF250, 2 DRZ's, 2 KTM450's and me on KTM360, the only two stroke in the group, I got a few mentions on how everyone was enjoying the smell when following me, ahh the smell of two stroke!

I would like to thank Dave and Julian for there efforts in organising/running the ride, it's a real benefit for us newby's to get the opportunity to participate and gain some experience in these rides.

Cheers,

Freddy.

Sounds like great conditions out there last weekend at Cobaw.

... and now just 2 weeks until the next Marysville ride, hopefully it is a little drier than last time  Cheesy.
