At an age when most people are giving dirt bikes away for 4wd's and easy  chairs Phil Randall is putting on some of the most popular dirtbike rides in the country. Phil know's a good thing when he strikes it and so it appears do the 30 or more people who regularly attend his rides. Check out the below pic of the car park - it's like Bourke Street. Whether it Phil's good nature or the lure of a cake shop stop for lunch they come from miles around !

As I've been a good boy and saved my pennies I'm in the market for another new bike. this one was loaned to me for the day to try. Yes it was nice - it was really nice and even thought this red hot Italian looks the goods it goes even better. Basically it's a KTM525 and a Husky suspension package. It handles like a dream and goes like a rocket and is on my shopping list. CLICK HERE FOR MORE BETA INFO.

Well it was a pretty quiet day with the usual average pace before lunch with only the standard challenge hill before lunch. There were only a few who had a go and even fewer who made it. It's always good to see new fellas having a red hot go - even if they don't make it !

After lunch we went over to the Narbethong side to skate about on the greasy clay over there. After going though one bog hole I thought hmm this looks a bit dodgy fro a beginner so I turned around and caught one of our guys doing a U-boat impression. We finally de-watered that one twice - the second time due to a drowning we gave it when it caught on fire ! Just when we got that sorted along came a group of guys and out came my cam era just in time to catch this fella in the interesting gear have a very sloppy one.

I thought that would be it for the day but just as the day was about to draw to an end we went and had a go at the telephone track that runs parallel to the road up the hill. Pommy Paul managed the most spectacular crash I've ever seen without injury or damage. Basically he took a good run at the hill then did an enormous highside, washed off all his speed in the process, caught it and dropped the bike on tree on the side of the track. The thing was that by then the bike had stopped and he more or less came to rest exactly on the tree. Feet flat on the ground and bike leaning on a tree like one of those Starsky and Hutch parking manouvers. Lucky bugger...

*** be aware that the ride will be changing to the second Sunday of the month from June  ***
