I left this ride report for someone else to start, I'll start & get the ball rolling. As usual I arrived about an hour early to the meeting place, after waiting for 15 minutes my mined started to wonder.......I hope this is the right meeting place, a short time later Chris rolled up, no need to worry anymore 2 of us can't be wrong. Grin
The day was looking great as we hit the black stuff & then onto some dirt roads,it was nice to cruse along to start the ride with, when I was getting eager to hit the trails I could see 2 riders up ahead marking the corner pointing us into a bloody slippery track with a lot off small tree roots sticking above the service, I had to do a bit of quick foot work here & there to keep me up right, I only had one get off for the day. We ended up doing quite a bit off disused tracks, with a couple of tricky hills, one of the hill climbs you couldn't see around the bend, & when I saw Chris coming back down!! I thought poo it must be a hard one, everyone had made it to the top & left only me & the sweep rider to go, the sweep rider......(Sorry I've forgotten ya name)got of his bike & had a look around the bend & then told me to keep to the center rut, with that good info I hooked 2 gear & took off, as I got around the bend I saw all the fellas sitting on both sides of the hill waiting for some action to happen, Grin sorry fellas to disappoint  ya's  Grin after that some more narrow tracks & then getting over fallen trees took it's toll on my partly numb & weak leg, not to mention my now very tender Groin & hip, so I decided to pull the pin after lunch & take the easy way back to the cars, Thanks Em for showing me the way back to the cars.
Someone else can fill in the after lunch ride, I heard something about a hill that gave half of the group a hard time Grin

Thanks Em for putting on a great ride, I'm very keen to give it another go when I'm %100 fit again.

Thanks Rob for leading well done mate.

Thanks Steve (Grandpa) for ya help to kick start my bike, happy the button worked for the rest of the day...Well half of the day Grin

Thanks for the rest of you blokes for ya great company, I hope to get out on a ride with ya's again soon.s

PS My leg, hip, groin feels pretty good at the moment.

Falling off doesn't hurt, it's the sudden stop that does the damage.

As Frankie said thanks for organising the ride Emma, pity ya couldn't ride it but looked like you enjoyed the day in the 4B anyway. Thanks Rob for putting your hand up and leading, good job, you didnt get us lost once  Grin

Was bloody slippery in places, glad I had new tyres on. Couldn't believe how much grip I was getting at one point then I realised why, rear was flat as a tack. Bugger. Put a new tube in but blew a big hole in it pumping it up so put a patch on the 1st tube and it actually held air for a while, at least until we got to the lunch stop where I put some more air in it which got me thru the rest of the day.

Not sure where we went after lunch but I know we went up Geary track, well at least some of us did. I think this hill stopped about half the field, if you didnt have good tyres it would have been a real struggle. Looked like it had been graded recently and was pretty loose on top. Top marks to the guy on the YZ250, his rear tyre was just about a slick and he got almost to the top.

Took a few vids on the day, heres a couple to start with -

Thanks for a great day boys, and special thanks to Emma for organising it all, to Rob for his great job in leading, and the tailmen for keeping us all in line.

It was a bit muddy for my 'less than perfect' tyres, but it certainly made for some challenging uphill climbs.

The depth of some of the bog holes was deceptive - My bike almost disappeared nose first into one of them and I needed a helping hand to get it back out.

The ride flowed well, and I think the slowest part of the day was waiting for lunch!

Hope there's more video clips to see, and I think some photos are needed too!

my bit!
have to say that I was really looking forward to this ride as I hadn't ridden in this area before, bit silly really as its not that far away, and as it turned out I was not dissappointed. Bob(sandra) and I left Traralgon 6.30 ish and headed west, had an awful-read- should have known better(maccas)breakfast in Pakenham and made our way to Launching Place with time to spare.  Arrived to find the reserve full of cars and utes and trailers and bikes- going to be a great day methinks Smiley.Emma arrived and after introductions and a ride briefing we were all set to go, Bob was Emma's co-pilot in the 4be for the day,the last I heard they were going on about pink hand grips or something Grin Grin. Rob led us on a short bitumen leg with Steve as tail(big thanks mate), wasnt long before we went down an "interesting' track,  we have all heard about the red clay havent we, well I havent ridden that much on it have I -so--- here I am as we head down this track with tree roots and the like just waiting to trip up the unsuspecting rider and the first bog hole I come to is another rider gently choosing his line and I think -here's a way past and off I go, into the bog hole and yip you guessed it - woopsie droped the bike didnt I, quick look around to see if anyone watching-doh- theres Pete, am sure I could see him shaking his head Grin. Anyway after that everything went well - - - until---- not really sure what happened but , as I was riding around a corner, more like a bend really, and this was on an established 4x4 road too, the back end decided to step out on me,, not sure if I wound the throttle on to drive out of the slide or what happened(I'm sure Trevor would have an opinion on this as he was in the box seat to see this unfold)but the next thing is the back wheel is deciding to over take the front and down I go, slid with the bike for a while and then as we turned through 90 degrees I let the handle bars go and continued my slide down the road on my back for 50 or so metres,, quite funny really, pity Trev didnt have his helmet cam, funniest home videos would have been his.,, Actually took a while to get my mojo back after that, , rode a couple of tricky hills complete with bog holes(see Trevors footage) until we came to some trees blocking our way,, some clearing of foliage and help saw all of us through this and then onto the down hill run to Powelly for a well deserved lunch break.,,Steak sangas and burgers with the lot seemed to be popular, mine certainly hit the spot Smiley, After lunch I put my hand up for tail duties and having said our goodbyes to Frankie and the pit crew ;)we were once agian off,, a nasty shower of rain must have been waiting for us to leave as down it came just in time for Geary's track, to be honest I dont think I would have made it up Geary's but being tailman gave me the excuse to stop and head back down to give a helping hand to those that were struggling, just as I was making my back down our intrepid ride leader Rob came back down saying "we'll go around" -phew thought I.
Once back down and everyone accounted for it was a quick ride back to the track where it all started for me,, funnily enough the boghole that tripped me up and the tree roots and clay didn't seem quite so intimidating this time through, so a short bitumen ride back to the trailers ,change of clothes and back to Traralgon for me and Bob, Well I drove as far as Pakenham and Bob drove the rest of the way as I had a dinner date with a six pack of my favorite brew, and bless her cotton socks she hosed my bike down too (as I stood there sucking on a stubbie) got to love her.
In closing I would like to thank Emma for organising the ride,  Grin. Rob a massive thankyou for leading,. Thanks also to the other two tailmen, and thanks to everyone who came along and made this ride what it was -FUN!!!.-       GOT TO LOVE DIRT BIKE RIDING HEY  Grin  Grin  Grin  Grin

Many thanks for the DVDs Sandra - just finished watching them.

Great to have a permanent record of the day's ride - maybe we should have a support vehicle and film crew on every outing!

I've gotta say though - the last bit of music was a bit 'fluffy' compared to the other tracks  Cheesy
