To tired to type a full report but must say it was an awesome day out! 16 riders in the morning. John tried to wear us down but we kept on keeping on and with Willey on his KTM supplying steamed dim sims for most of the day we managed to get up most of the hills 14 ventured out for the afternoon session which was the 'easy' ride. Well what can I say.. you have to come on the next ride to experience the trails Johns classes as easy Heres a vid: Dave

Great Video Dave, it was an awesome day, interestingly I went out for a in Johno's words a good ride not a hard ride. Somewhere around a level 2 to level 2+ ride and then was informed by John at the end of the day that it was probably a clubman +, what a relief to here this, here was me thinking that level 2+ was a lot harder than I anticipated anyway a big thanks to all who help me with there encouragement and muscle and advice got me get through unscathed, apart from nearly every joint in my large body acing. Special thanks must go to the tail men Mark and Howard and to Paul, Simon and Al and last but certainly not the least Chris, but thats what riding with AMTRA is all about helping each other out.Will.

Great video Dave thanks I was hoping for the superman display on the easy loop, By the way took the kids on the second loop today up to the hill climb out of the forest only helped them through 1 creek crossing and missed the superman down hill. See it was easy Thanks all ( mark & Howard tailmen )for coming and making a great day

Thanks for another great day John.
Good video and some very tired riders at the end of the day. Cant believe Will didn't have hart failure!
My take is that this ride is a Level 2 in the dry and Clubman in the wet. Similar difficulty level to Al's Fumina ride although not as much greasy slippery clay at Glenlyon.
Gotta love those narrow 4x4 tracks!

Well done John for a great day, and to Dave and Chris for the vids. I will be aiming for the next one!! And good effort Will! You may have tasted the dirt alot on the day, but you didnt pull the pin and gave everything a good go. You will have lernt alot when you tackle the next tricky day. But if you havnt? At least get us a lighter bike to pick up! Cheers to you all for a great day Al

That's great video of those trails.. Please jog my memory, where is Daylesford?, I know I have been there just cant remember where it is,. I have been away too long After watching so many struggle with those uphills. Carefully watch the blokes getting up with least problems. They are standing up! Practice standing, it gets eaier the more you try. Momentum is your friend on uphills. If you are standing you also keep your feet on the pegs. Once you start paddling your legs, you just lost the use of your gearbox and rear brake. I noticed that on the downhills too. Just little things that can make a difference.

Daylesford between Ballarat and Bendigo in the central vic goldfields area.
All very easy to say keep the feet on the pegs and stand up, but I think some of these folks were in the "Oh Sh1t" stage of hill climb/descent.
We will try them out at Cobaw in a few weeks.

Just to say thanks John for a great day, can't wait for an invite to do those tracks we did in the afternoon again. I had a few heart stopping moments watching Will Riding across the hill or gully where it seemed that if he was going to fall it was always downhill!!!! funny that. Great bunch of guys and the vibe was that everybody had a really good day. Navigating my way out of the reserve was a challenge as it looked totally different after the fog cleared. Thanks Again John Howard

Thanks I remember now where its at.. I do also remember the Oh-Sh1t" moments, in fact I still have them just usually at higher speeds now with pain following.
