Title: Glengarry Easy Clubman 10dec2011 Post by: Gary Clarke on December 11, 2011, 06,16:22 AM Looking around the car park it was good to see the 2t bikes out numbered the 4 strokes for a change 5 to 3, at 8:30am started off on one of my favorite warm up tracks, about 1hr in to the ride Zeb called out over the UHF Geoff had a flat front tire, it was quickly fixed and we were on our way. The group was moving along well until we had to go up a steep and narrow rocky hill, some got it 1st time and others took a few more tries " like me" 5 but whose counting!, well the rest of the ride group was, along with laughing and the usual amount of s#*t stirring as I finally got to the top. Geoff clipped a branch and broke the fuel line off his carby it snapped the brass T and took a big chunk of the carby body with it, with a cut off section of breather hose and a few cable ties as a temporary repair we were on our way back to the cars. 1 x bike less we headed out again, finishing at about 3:30 with approx 110km. Big thanks to Zeb for tail man, and to all the riders that came along, fantastic group to ride with. Cheers, Gary. I had a great ride although i think I was favouring my bung knee a bit much which led to some silly put downs. All in all though the tracks up that way offer every variety of difficulty one could hope for and with the top blokes on this ride my day was complete,, thanks again Gary and Zeb and also everyone else for making the day what it was - -bloody good fun,, god i love dirt bike riding!!
Geez I'm kinda glad in a way that we did ride in the heat n dust as the skies opened up and it p@#$%d down nearly all of Saturday night and Sunday morning here in the valley, I think it would've made for a different riding experience, but slippery, muddy and raining it would have still been fun. Title: Re: Glengarry Easy Clubman 10dec2011 Post by: flipper on December 11, 2011, 10,40:02 AM Great ride Gary - thanks for organising it!
And thanks Zeb for sitting in our dust all day doing tailman duties. These were new tracks to me, and were a mix of fine grey soil and sand, which gave good grip. Unfortunately, that also meant that there was a lot of dust in the air at times, and the humid weather made most of it stick to us! Some interesting (read 'steep') rocky downhill sections, where using the brakes could mean a trip over the bars, and a couple of reasonably long creek crossings to test out the waterproofing of our bikes (they all passed with flying colours too!) The ride flowed really well too, with everyone just slotting into their spots at the corners. When Geoff broke his fuel connector, it was at a point where we all grouped together watching a hill climb, so it meant that no-one was stuck on a corner wondering what had happened. Good fun!
