What an awesome day out, arrived at 8.30am and on the bike for 9am 10klms in and a heard of deer straight out in front of me, anyway onward bound, due to the recent burn offs we found some new tracks and some new dead ends.
We headed down 1 track to find a couple of dodgy bridges, looked a lot like an Al Mason track so since it was a level 1 / 2 ride I decided to turn around and not cross and we continued on with regular breaks and regroups.
We pulled up for a regroup around midday and Jim had been struggling a bit and he and Fredo and Paul had stop further down the track for a rest so lunch was called.
1pm and we were off again heading north and did a lot more of the open stuff with 1 or 2 tight challenges thrown in to keep everyone honest.
Darren lost the rear brake after his stop light switch in the rear calliper melted and exploded causing him to loose the brake. A quick fix up with liqiud metal and we were off again and not long before Lefty and I were standing at an intersection awaiting on the rest of the group turning up then all of a sudden we were surrounded by a group of bush walkers, next minute Lefty was grabbin a granny and picked up Crystal a spunky 70odder leaving with her phone number.
What happens on the trails stays on the trails right Stew  Grin
Bob had a flat so Jim got to see the do's and dont's of fixing a flat on the trail.
Anyway eventually we pulled into the carpark just on 5pm with 140 odd klms on the speedo and 16 smiling faces.
Thanks everyone for coming and making it a top day.

Nice day Will. 2nd run in on the 449 and she's coming along nicely. 135ks on my speedo and as mentioned good mix of fast flowing tracks (dust is back). A few laughs along the way and thanks again for putting it on. Thanks also to Paul for bringing the donuts and Freddo for tail all day.
PS. I'm off to have a look at my new weekender in Willow Grove Road with Crystal. FYI, shes only 52 !!!

Thanks Will for putting on  a good, well catered ride, for the senior members  Roll Eyes with still a little bit of interesting tracks included...
The new fella Jim on the DRZ400, I showed him how to change a back tyre by cutting the tyre off the rim & then putting grass inside it  Shocked & then stitching it back with cable ties  Cool and I hope you were ok Jim.....

Yes Bob, it was Bob Duckett's rear tyre that I had fixed on Al Mason's level 1/2 ride last year, that he hadn't replaced the thin 21 tube  Angry ....f*n Jakass...

Thanks Will for another top day out on the bikes I had a ball as always and had a few laughs manly at my expense.
Thanks Freddo for tail man duty's all day and for the help with the brake switch (the metal putty did the trick to keep the dirt out but didn't hold pressure)now have fitted the standard banjo bolt from the parts kit all good. A big thanks to every one else on the ride as you are allways a top bunch to ride with.  Grin

Just want to say a Huge thanks to all the crew for an unforgettable & unbelievable fun day(Old Farts Ride last Sat). Had such a good day, got bit worn out towards end of the day as not used to riding all day, also no goggles made it hard, but you people are awesome, l couldn't recommend a better way to learn to off road enduro with great riders & crew with a fantastic set up with regards to safety and navigation. I completely look forward to the next level 1/2 ride and hope to improve my skills so l can hit level 3! soon. Thinking of getting a lighter bike to help me progress quicker also, but the Dr Drz does the job until then.
Thanks to all of you, great people great organization.
Big Thanks, Jim

I have figured out how to change a tyre with just hot air, lm thinking of patenting it, it just requires you to listen to experienced riders & ignore completely what they say (to the new guy), meanwhile l will eat 20 cans of baked beans and show them how its done!
None of this taking off the back wheel crap!
Gotta be honest l learnt so much that day. Cheers to all riders & organizers.
