Arriving at the Glenburn road house at 8.40am i found all the guys plus 3 extras that i didn't know about, all eager to get going, so with the small talk out of the way we left for the unloading area. With everyone geared up and ready to hit the trails, i had a quick chat about the corner man system and that i had said on the web that it was going to be an easy exploration ride and that, that had now changed we were going to do my normal ride. After minimal rain all week and a light sprinkling overnight conditions were perfect for riding, Mark Clark volunteered to go tailman so we were off, with a huge selection of tracks at my disposal i cut off some of the nastier ones and we spent all morning on the tight technical trails with minimal transport sections, which was good for me as i was soaked from going first down all the tracks and knocking the dew off the leaves, so when we did hit a transport section i froze!! Everyone was travelling along well with no dramas, untill on a technical up hill climb and after just cresting the top, my bike stalled and locked up. Thinking it was comperssion locked it was off with the tank and out with the plug to try and free it up, all to no avail though as the bike was locked solid and i suspect something nasty has happened like a cracked ring or something. After a lot of huffing and puffing the bike was pushed and towed out to the main road where it could easily be towed back to the cars. Back at the cars i loaded up and left the rest of the boys to it, someone else will have to finish off the report with the events of the afternoon section of the ride. As usual Lefty had the camera out at every opportunity so i suspect he will post up some pic's. I wonder if he'll post the pics that i took with his camera of his bike falling over while he was taking pics of my bike in bits!! Thanks to everyone who helped push and tow my bike back to the cars, it was much appreciated

Bugger!
That doesn't sound good. I've never experienced a bike failure like that and I hope I never do. It must be an awful experience.
I guess the replica 250 may get an airing sooner rather than later!

It depends on whats wrong with my bike Serge, if it needs major surgery then the Meo replica could be getting dirty!!

Glad you enjoyed the mornings ride Craig, I would have liked to show you guys some more but the Husky had other ideas. Zeb there wouldn't want to be to much wrong with it, hopefully it's an easy fix and I'm just thinking the worst.

Eric, glad you enjoyed the morning ride, wet or dry you can handle it no worries and I'll let you know when im going out there again.
Stuart, you are not sorry for anything! You loved filling me in for 2 minutes solid, you loved giving me crap, and you loved calling me names. It was great to have you along on the ride, your sense of humor really makes me laugh. Great guys to ride with. And i will let you all know when the next one is on!

The view from the rear was interesting as always, with a few riders seemingly out to set records for how many corners they could get on for the day and others trying to mount logs of differing sizes in all manner of ways. I went on this ride for a challenge and Nathan did an excellent job of providing this challenge up till his bike decided that we had had enough. Hope the bike is ok Nathan. The afternoon shift was a lot faster with the technical difficulty level down a few notches. Thanks to all riders for a great day out on some great tracks.

Thanks Nathan. Nice slippery logs to jump and a bugger about your bike. All the crew rode well and it flowed well. The only other bugger was washing all the mud off the car and bike trailer. Till next time catch ya.

Hey guys, glad you enjoyed the day sorry I couldn't complete the ride, but by the sounds of it you all had a good afternoon. I dropped my bike off at the shop on Monday arvo and they were stunned that my bike had seized up. After having problems starting my bike electrically, 3 weeks ago I had anything to do with starting the bike replaced under warranty. When the new starter motor and starter gears were installed, the mechanic left out a needle roller bearing, which allowed the fly wheel and starter assembly to move around on the crank shaft causing rapid wear of the starter gears. With the starter gears out of alignment due to the missing bearing this caused the bike to lock up. With the new parts ordered it was a 20 min fix to un lock my bike. So once again anything to do with starting my bike has been replaced, under warranty, and that mechanic will never make that mistake again, so I am happy and will test out my bike on Monday
