After not riding for about five weeks, between trips to Aust, work, training classes for work, then more work. I did manage to squeeze in a rebuild of the top end of my 200.
It is time for the first race of the 09-10 season. LBJ enduro is in Clinton, South Carolina. A blink and you miss it town..

Ready to leave the house.

Get to the camping-start area after a 4 hour drive. Luckily we have good friends with nice toyhauler caravans. We are staying with Johnny Futo in his camper on the right.

Here is a pic of a friends Huasberg in black and white plastics.

Here is a pic of a 2010 250XC looking very clean.

Lucky it wasn't too hot this year, It was about 85F and about 80% humidity, Think Queensland. The first section was approx 9 miles, I got really bad arm pump in my right arm. Which slowed me a lot, due to taking my hand off the throttle too often to shake some feeling into it.. At the end of the first section I drank some fluids and massaged my forearm furiously. It did the trick as my right forearm was ok for the rest of the day. My right hand will still go numb because of carpel tunnel but I get used to that.

Lots of bikes waitng to start

Got to the gas (petrol) stop after 40 miles, had a bout 15 minutes to drink, eat a banana, top of the fuel and then head onto the next section. Thats me in the middle with the fresh haircut.

Another twenty or so miles to the finish. The trails were excellent, a mix of sand, clay, and black dirt and lots of roots. It was dusty when you caught someone or you got passed. I rode most of the event on my own. I passed four people ahead of me each section and I got passed by about five people from rows behind me each section.  Only had one crash nothing bad just lost the front end in a tight uphill turn.
Was glad to see the finish. I did ok considering my lack of training.

Would like to thank my wife Lynn and Johnny's wife Cassie for taking care of us at the stops and resets. And feeding us when we had finished.
Worn out but still bench racing afterwards. Dirtbike people are the best. Wink

I ended up 8th in 45+B, This was my first race in the B class. I was hoping to finish in the top ten. So all was good. Grin
Now will I be ready for next weekends race ....

Thanks for that look at riding in another part of the world.
It looks dry, how long since it's rained in that area?
Don't we just love dust!

Yes it was dusty. It hadnt rained for about 4 days. But the heat evaporates it quickly.....

Have you ever tried to find VB over here Grin

I can assure you my liver tests can testify to previous drinking habits... I try to limit my drinking nowadays.
