G,day All
I posted a last min ride as a new member with a response from Alex Peacock surgesting we do a ride at Strathbogie! sounds good to me havn,t ridden in there for years.
The day started with the boring old drive up the Hume HWY with a meeting time of 9am , as it was my first time to this start spot i was 20 min early to meeted by a Fox who was just hanging out & wouldnt go until i thought i would try out my new Fox whistle that was in the ute when i used that he ran? there ment to bring them closer not make them run.
Any way Alex arrived on que we spoke poo then hit the trail. The friday night flooged down with rain so the ground was prefect & the sun was coming out for a ripper ride day of about 22deg.
The trails where a mix of open trails & tight trails with mud , rock & that bike killing grantic sand[evil stuff].
Alex started with easy open trails I guess that was to check my riding abilty we progressed to some nice tight trails which flowed nicely with heaps logs boulders, rocks & some creek crossings. Alex has his set trails that he likes to do we missed the odd one or two with the U turn made to find them.
The day was going great with the pace constant no break downs or injurys. Until I cme around a corner & stepped off & had wrestle with a log on the side of the trail? normaly i just get up & brush my self of & keep going but this one gave me huge dead leg & I chewed on a bit of bark as well. After meeting up with Alex at the end of the trail & having a sit down for 10 min I made the call to go back to the car early. We could have done another 3 hrs ridding but I could bearly stand on that leg Cry. Alex informed me there was a 1.5hr tight trail that we would have to miss by going back to the car I did hve second thoughts but [ theres only Dead heros ] so we rode back to the car load up & was on our merry way home.
If any other members are heading up that way a lot of the trails are club man its not a place for level one/two riders if they hit the tight trails.
Thanks Alex's for the ride & helping me load bike on.Having Monday off to make shore leg is not fractured Doc said internal tissue bruising. Better to be safe than sorry.
Bring on the next next ride.
