Went on that Kinglake/ Mt Robinson ride on Saturday and a very nice ride it was too. The am part of the ride was guided by Bill and led by Sean [work that one out] it worked well until Bill started having problems with his bike, still the ride flowed. 2.30 four dropped out back at the cars the rest refueled and rode off lead by Paul he knows this area well and showed us some top tracks technical single trails ,big arse bog holes with mud that made you puke from the smell , long up hills and one of the narlest downhills ive ever been on so steep every ones motor was off with the back wheel tapping you on the back of the helmet. Worked our way over to the pines with fast flowing tracks. Got back to the cars around fourish totally satisfied. Thanks Sean great ride great blokes i will definitely be on the next one. And the best part i was home in 35 mins.

Yeah, I went to Kinglake on Saturday as well and had a ball. We met in Yarra Glen at 7.30ish grouped up and drove to the unload point which took about 25 min. I'm still getting used to the 449 but we were straight into it. Fast flowing, lots of tight stuff and heaps in between. Pretty full on till lunch and then back to the cars (as Rod stated) to refuel and back for more. The tempo didn't change much after Paul took over and I was feeling the pinch. More mad tracks and I took over tail to slow down a bit and enjoy, and that I did. After some great tracks home and me, almost spent, praised the lord as we shot out on the main road 40 metres from the car park. Thanks to all for your day, those who organized, helped, cracked some jokes, tailed and helped when needed. Lefty.

PS. Great to see a father and son team out there enjoying each others company and ability...Something to be proud of..I know I love it.

I would usually do a Rawson ride this time of year but due to bushfire closure I decided to try a different spot. With a chat to this one and that one I hatched a plan with Bill to help me explore Kinglake.
We met at yarraglen and transported to Extons rd,there turned out to be 12 of us in total. We had a quick chat and geared up ,then we headed out with Bill in lead and myself as point man.
Things seemed to be flowing well, the weather was an absolute treat and the tracks were a mix of tight stuff as well as open stuff.
the morning went well and we stopped for lunch around 12 .After lunch we headed off and shortly after we made a turn into a track where I decided to pass bill for a dust free stint and I soon found myself on a steep downhill goatie(wher the back wheel tapped the back of my head ,so I bailed and had a lye down) ,I hear on the radio We've made a wrong turn but its to late Most of us are to far down to turn back now.

to be continued

It is nice to be important.
But it is more important to be nice.

I had a blast!.. Early start for me as I left home at 0530hrs, but was most certainly worth it. Not having ridden in this area before I was really keen to have a look. The morning loop was great, easy flowing tracks to start with and then a couple of tighter ones thrown in to see us at the lunch spot. After lunch a really gnarly downhill had most if not all of us dead engine to the bottom, then a nice climb out the other side, that equalled bloody awesome for me  Smiley Smiley.
Bill had a battery or charging issue not long after this so the decision was made to head back to the cars, Paul offered to lead those of us that wanted to continue on a loop of his -yes please. Absolutely awesome tracks with a mix of everything you could ask and hope for, I definitely need to ride in places like this more often, so if time permits I will definitely be back... Thanks to the ride leaders and the tailmen,
Rocked back home at 1920hrs, so a big day for me, still smiling about that downhill  Smiley.

I was having a great day, all was flowing very well until that big fallen tree jump out in front of me...only hit that because Seano gave me a shunt Smiley Smiley I have a very nice huge black/blue/yellow coloured bruise on my thigh after that one, plus it stuffed up what rhythm I had and that wasn't much Cheesy....Sorry about the wrong turn into that snotty down hill and that's where it all went bad for me. I had a small off going down because my clutch was sticking and the bike decide it was not going to start via the button so Will & I decide it was better for me to turn around just in case I got stuck down the bottom with a bike that would not start. After a few detours we all found each other and regrouped....the UHF's do come in handy....I decided it was better if I headed back to the cars and the rest off them could go back out a do some nice hidden tracks.

I think everyone had a good ride and I also think everyone had ther fair share of little lay downs for the day....I know I had 3 good ones. There are still a heap load of tracks that I did not get a chance to show but there is always another time.

"NO" not all of us had lay downs, I have a new scratch on my bike though and can only assume that happened when some one decided to use me to lean there bike on when they decided to have a lay down whilst stopped  Grin
