I drove up to Eildon to the Taj Mahal Thursday Arvo with Gerard not far behind me, we headed for the Pub for a Roast Dinner and back to the Taj Mahal for some fizzy drinks and a chat and went to bed around 11.30pm.
We woke to a Magic looking day and drove to Eildon Pondage Meeting Point, where after about 20 Minutes the punters start rolling in, i could Hear a V8 sounding Motorbike in the distance, within a minute or so Russ on his KTM 990 Dakar rolled up. One of the riders looked at me and and said" This Guy is Going To slow the Ride Down" I replied, "he'll whip your Ass boy" with that we were off down the Tar and into Mallets track. 3 Cornermen later i saw Russ Sideways and he had passed all the riders and was doing the next Cornerman for me. I put Russ on about 30 Corners during the day, " Just goes to show you how a good rider can handle a 200kg Big Big Bore"!!!
We arrived at Mt Terrible where is was Terrified to see some dumb Ass's had set out to nearly destroy the Hut and the Water tank " Unbelievable "  Whats with these Dickheads that destroy Property that is built to help people when they get in trouble.
We departed Mt Terrible and headed for Kevington Pub for lunch , arriving around 11.40am, the doors were shut till 12, so we sat in the Beer Garden and chatted till they opened.
12 o'clock and we spilled into the Pub and ordered lunch then cruized into Jamieson for fuel.
Just as we were about to go, Russ spotted a few Teeth missing on the front sprocket of the 990 and decided to take the Tar home, with Russ out i forgot to put a cornerman on the first corner " BAD MOVE" and about 30 min into the return trip back to Eildon things got a bit MMMMM where is the Cornerman!!! Gerard & Greg R went back to collect him and we regrouped at Mt Terrible.
I seem to be riding well and was having a ball getting Air of the erosion Ruts, so i thought I'd put in some challenging Narrow Trails, this got the Blood pumping for some off the riders as there was some log crossings and tight detours around fallen trees. Alexandra Motorbike Club had replaced the Narrow Bridge( Bens Bridge) that was in need of repair after about 15 Years of service,as there is the Nolan Rally in May. Once all the harder tracks had been ridden , it was a quick ride back into Eildon ariving at the Cars at around 5.30 and i think about 150ks for the day.

We had no bike problems in the Arvo, but i'm suffering a Sore Lower Back after getting hit in the Ass while going over a Large Erossion Rut,and nearly going over the bars at around 70 khr, man i nearly sh!t myself!!!

I rode the KTM 990 LC8 form Kevington - Jamieson and from 80km/hr to 160 km/hr takes about 2 sec!!!" Not that i would be doing that sort of speed ".

Thanks for the ride Pete, had a ball especially up Newmans Track on the way up to Mt Terrible. Lesson learnt, never take on a enduro bike over erosion bars. The big girl bottomed out front and back and landed flat on the bash plate. Maybe I should loose some weight. This is where I stuffed the front sproket in my opinion, slightly over tightned chain did not help the matter.

Got back to Mordialloc without a hitch and by the sounds of the afternoon "single track" probably a blessing in disguise.

Thanks again for the ride and how good was the Kevi pub for lunch.

Cheers Russ

Front verandah has been pulled down, walls kicker in, ceiling pulled down, facia kicked in, flashing torn off and they put an Axe through the water tank.

Falling off doesn't hurt, it's the sudden stop that does the damage.

This kinda sh!t burns me!  Can't understand the d!ckheads that do this!  Clearly, it's not serious 4WDs or riders that do it, cos they understand the significance of these huts.

I wonder if it's possible for AMTRA to help out in the rebuilding of the hut, or if it's appropriate for us to donate some $$ to get it back up to scratch.

Check this site out Serge.

http://hutsvictoria.org.au/cms/

I just sent an email to Ken Birch, and explained what i saw, and if the hut is going to be repaired we might look at donating some money or Materials or even some Labor.

His reply:  It was trashed several weeks agoŠ
We have DSE , Parks & the police looking at the problem with a view of
apprehending the $%^&^^%$%
In the meantime we have had our maintenance officer up there two weeks ago
and the Yarra Valley 4WD Club are going to look after it for us.
It looks like we can repair it but it will take some timeŠ
