Did somebody put the boot in??

And the splint job doesn't look good to me, check out the twist in the leg, ie flopped over boot. Oops - sorry, mentioned the boot again.

Bob you can re read my post, no malice in it either or criticising your question.
It's the theory that it's the sidi boots fault that is rubbish.
Read the labels on any piece of safety equipment that you have, no piece of equipment can protect you 100 % in the case of an accident.
Maybe it's the fact that sidi boots are so popular that a hell of a lot of people have them, that contributes to them being involved in allegedly more accidents than any other boot, who knows. But to blame a certain brand of equipment on here say or trail talk and no proven fact for the end result is rubbish.
I have broken bones in my feet wearing sidis, I've hit hidden tree stumps friggen hard due to the speed I was doing, I do not blame the boot.
Get things wrong on a dirt bike, wether it be hit something unseen, crash land a jump, grab a hand full of throttle at the wrong time or just purely fcuk up, things are going to break, wether it's you or the bike.
All you can do is try to minimise the risk/result by wearing all the gear all the time.
Not having a go at you just the sidi boot theory that is un proven rubbish.

I would have been happy to be hog tied to anything to get the hell out of there and off to hospital.

This thread is starting to head off into one of those awkward directions.  I'm starting to hear banjos and visions of Brokeback Mountain,

Hey Bob! like Nath said, in the 'upper-end' of the boot market, I don't reckon you could get a bad boot.  Lots of folk wear sidis, and that's why lots of people get hurt Wearing them.
