Title: Eildon-Jamieson Brewery 28/09/10
Post by: Peter r on September 25, 2010, 11,29:18 AM
The Perfect Ride

It started with one of the best Days i've seen at Eildon for months, 13 Degrees and the sun was out and light cloud above, 6 of us couldn't believe our luck as we slipped into our riding Gear and no need for the Jacket, just a jersey and Armour.
As we all know Eildon has Copped heaps of Rain in the Last few Months and is now up to 59.8% capacity and rising 15 cm a day, so i decided to ride across the Dam Wall for a look see.
I haven't seem the water this high in Years, and the vibe in town really shows it, as this Summer will bring a swarm of People into Eildon and surrounding areas.

Anyway we rode over the Dam Wall and down Jue's Creek Rd and into the Bush, where the Tracks were just perfect not to wet and the traction was 10/10. All 6 of us seem to be riding at about the Break Neck speed that i like to travel at, and with the group riding in Harmony, there was no need for the Cornerman system, everyone knew there spot and everything just fell into place, this is what makes for a good ride, equal riding skills and no waiting around and loosing that RUSH "Gotta Love That".
I took the boys down some overgrown narrow 4x4 Trail and encountered some large tree's blocking our path to fun, but managed to get around and under some and back on the Path to Fun, we rode down 15 mile and headed for Mt Terrible where the Sun was unseen and a bit on the cold side.

After a Quick stop we made our way down Polleties Track and came across a Fella on a WR250 with a learner plate, i hung back and watched John pass Him, the young fella got straight on the throttle and thought he would keep on John Ass,"WRONG" he did manage this for about 3 Seconds, then i lined him up and passed him on the Back wheel doing somewhere around 10-100 klms/hr, poor kid didn't know what was going on. Then a mad Dash to Jamieson Servo for a re fuel and a Chat with Scotty the Servo owner, he was telling me about the river and how it broke it's banks up near Polittes Track, the trees on the river copped a hiding with the river rising 3 Metres.
We rolled into the Brewery around 12.30  and were promptly served by the friendly staff, Chips n Parmas & Ham n Cheese toasties with Chips, i said to the lady when i collected my chips " can i have some Gravy please" she answered $1.00 for the Gravy "WRONG ANSWER WOMAN" "Mate" was i Pissed off, that was and is the last time i'll go to that joint, we always go to the Court House Pub and GRAVY IS FREE, and as much as you like, the foods better and Cheaper aswell, so if your thinging about going to the Brewery "DON'T"
After lunch we headed back via Dray Track for some high speed riding with John T at my side as per usual, there's nothing like going way to fast with ya Mates and surviving the Arm wrenching of warp factor 9,"go the big bores" at one point i managed to get a glimse of the Speedo and was hard on the picks, and it said 125 Klms MMMM FUN.

We came across 4 dogs with tracking devices, but they didn't even worry about us they just kept on sniffin around.

Everything was going to plan and we were well on our way home when John T and i had the biggest fright of our lives, as we came around a left bend doing around 50 klms/hr, a Lady and Her son on Pit bikes "not looking where they were going" came straight at us. I managed to go between the embankment and the son (about 7 Years old) and john locked it up and just clipped the Boy. The Boy was Very lucky that he was looking at his Mum and didn't Sh!t himself and Slam into me Cos He would of been dead, a boy about 30kg and his bike fo probably 50-60kgs and me 85kgs and a bike of 120kgs, i know who was gunna end up in the back of an Ambulance." what the hell was she thinking taking a child out on a dirt road" and she had a go at us for not seeing them.

Josh managed to get a flat tyre and i managed a busted little toe for the ride, and we arived at the cars around 4.30.

Thanks to Mark for doing the Sort of Tailman duties.
Thanks to the riders for fabulous day and John for making me Sh!t myself with those high speed corners.

You know you've had a great ride when your Arms feel 10 feet long and every muscle feels like it's been in the wringer.
I'm totally Rooted!!!!
170klms for the Day.
And that's what i call my Perfect ride ( Except the Near Miss & Broked Toe)

Well What can I say,
Great weather for a day out on the bike's
The perfect mix of rider’s  which means  no waiting on corners MAGIC
Come to think of it there were no corners  just a quick look back for the tailman and on the gas
All the guys kept a fantastic pace for the day which you would have to call ballistic at stages
Josh and Jarrod kept things interesting vying for second pos which was fun
Thanks Pete
Jarrod Josh Mark and Rob couldn’t ask for a better bunch of blokes to ride with.
