Friday morning i headed off to Install a Splitty at one of the caravan parks in Eildon, after the unit had been fitted i cruzed back to my van for a Granny Nap, i woke up around 5.30,  then watched the TV . Charles decided to attend the ride and was on his way from melbourne, he turned up at around 6.30 then we headed to the Pub for Dinner, and chatted about his new Tenere 660 then headed back to the van for a few more Cans, before i new it i was pushin out zzzzzzz. All of a sudden BOOMthere was a massive clap of thunder "scared the sh!t outta me" there was Lightning & Thunder everwhere, it was just after 6.00am and then pissed down for about 1/2 hour. I cooked the usual Bacon & Eggs and drove into Eildon to meet the Boys. I did say 8.30 start but one turned up just as we were leaving,"not happy Jan". Anyway we finally got going on the Eildon 210 with 15 riders all up for a good day, there was a little drizzle but nothing to bad, the tracks were real slippery and my tyres had see better days.
We rode out of Eildon and onto Mallets Track and slipped slided all over the place, it was like some old Wog had trowled the first two Tracks into a Glass finish.
There was NO way in hell of doing 210 k's today, we had a couple of regroups in the first 20 min and it took the back markers another 5 min to roll in.
I took them down the easy stuff "still megga slippery" and ended up back on Eildon Jamo Road. You turn left then go down about 80mtrs and turn right, as im waiting for a Cornerman to arrive JIM "I CAN'T MONO FOR SH!T" decided to Mono on the tar. So here i am looking at this fella, front wheel way up there in the clouds, then all of a sudden it  went Pear Shaped,  CRASH he hit the deck side ways and slid on the wet tar for about 40 mtrs then the bike went off the side of the road and into the ditch. Now this bike was no average Dirt bike it was a Aprilia Twin Cylinder 550 that now needed Foot Peg, bark buster, plastic's and all sorts of repair.
Jim didn't do so well either, from what we could make of it, he done some real good bend n twisting Ancle stuff(not good), so two blokes headed back to Eildon to pick up the car and collect the now ground away Aprilia 550 then headed of to the Hospital, By the way he also stuffed his Helmet, Elbow Gaurds, Jersey, Nylons, Goggles & Boots, should of see the scrape mark's in the Tar. So we lost about an 1 1/2 of time with this Crash.
Once they nicked off it was on, we headed for Jamieson like there was no tomorrow, the tracks had dried out and i was in Balistic mode, as i rode up the Tar to Newmans track i saw a lightning strike, which looked like it struck the hills in front of me then it Pissed down, lucky there was a Dunny just down the road so we made a dash for it. This Dunny is about 2 ft wide and 6 ft long but most of us managed to shelter in and around it as the Heavens opens for about 10min then just stopped. Off we rode again up towards Mt Terrible and into the clouds, you couldn't see two feet in front of ya which slowed thing to a near walking pace, some off the time you were not sure wether you were on the track or not. We all headed into Jamieson for some tukka & fuel, the sun stuck it's head out every now and then, but mostly stayed overcast and Humid.
Ian had a leaking rear Valve but luckily he picked it up while we were still in the servo and stuck in a new one, we then rode back up towards Mt Terrible and Chris had an off but was ok. As i'm riding up the rocky hill to Terrible, some Bastard thing decided to sting me on the back, nothing worse than trying to climb a hill while trying to Kill the bitey thing" i now have a red mark the size of a 20 cent piece".
Once we got up to Terrible, Michael needed to fix a puncher. When buying new tyres, always fit them yourself it's good practice for when ya need to repair the tube out on the trails,"Gerard & Michael had no idea", so i got Leo to fetch my Tyre Levers and put the tyre back on myself.while the tyre drama was going on Charles decided to do some suspension work on Marks KLX 450 helping him set up the clickers as the thing was wound in fully for a no suspension ride.
It was around 4.30 when we left Mt Terrible with a heap of k's to do for the return trip back to the cars. Micheal's geap lever fell of "so i hear" but he found it and stuck it back on the bike,
I decided to throw in some really tight and Technical stuff towards the end, and on the last regroup there was a few stuffed customers, we got back to the car around 6.00pm and only managed to do 146 k's , if it wasn't so slippery n wet and no crashes we easily could of done the 210k's.
I needed to be home around 7.00 so the wife could go out for a girly night out and i would be home for the Billy Lids, so i rang the Chief of Everything to explain why i was going to be late and she had dropped the kids of at her Mums, and sais to me "take your time there's no rush" with that Charles and i headed to Eildon Pub for a couple of Beers and another Pub feed "this Motor Bike riding can be expensive" Friday night PUB, Saturday Lunch PUB, Saturday Night PUB, after a feed i drove home and arrived around 9.30. Another Days Ride Done.
Thanks Boys for a Grouse ride and Good Company.
See ya for the Eildon to Woods Point 20th March, remember the Fuel in $6.00 a litre at the Woods point Pub.

hey hey..peter.you know the bracken fern you see everywhere up the hills..this is what you do..pull the fern out of the ground with the bulb root intact, break open the bulb root and inside is a sticky clear gell..rub that over the bite..instant relief..works on bites/burns/stings.etc etc..

i swear by it..theres a lot to be learnt from aboriginals..

Rat, do not tell him about these treatments, he will start rubbing over his private parts, then we will all be in trouble.
May be you could do a Rat in the bush first aid post and list all these good bush treatments. Looks like a Rat in the bush is better than a Rat in a drain pipe. Will
