We all met at 15 Mile Rd on the Eildon/Jamieson Road all 14 of us, the ride started with a quick Briefing around 9.30am an we headed off, the temp was around 10 Deg and Very overcast, looked like it was gunna p!ss down rain at any time.
The old RMX took a bit time to get used to, but within 15 Min i was at home with it again, nothing like a 250 2 Banger.
We pretty much took all the fire trails and could see the Snow on top of Mt Torbeck, there were a few trees over the tracks but managed to get around them. John T and i were riding together and come across a Beagle Hound dog just watching us go past, as per usual in Winter there is always a few Hunters out for a Buck or Two.
My bike started to run lean so onto Reserve and headed back to the cars, it rained a little just enough to wet the tracks and turn them into a Slip n Slide.
Fred stayed back at the Cars as he is suffering from a Leg injury and couldn't ride, so i got him to cook the BBQ, nothing like a Hot Snag in Bread and a cuppa when it's cold.
Those snags went like Hot Cakes, lucky i brought 2 packs of Snags, Marls supplied some Fairy Cakes & Finger Lamingtons MMMMM,Fred had a Ripper Fire burning so we all got warm eating around the Fire.
MR plod turned up to tell us that there will be 100 Klm/hr winds coming soon so we decided not to do the Arvo ride as the Trees are a bit dangerous after the fires" Better to be safe than Sorry".
A few of us hung around for a while chatting around the Fire, but the wind picked up, so we all packed up and headed home.

Thanks Fred for cooking the BBQ and bringing the outdoor thingy cover, Marls for suppling the sweets & Anthony for doing Tailman.

Na hanging around the fire eating Fred's sausages and talking bikes was a pretty good way to spend a Saturday.  Thanks Fred and Marls.

Thanks for the day Pete (and the riding tips by John and yourself), was looking forward to an afternoon ride but mother nature put an end to that.

Cheers, DanJ

After sampling the great job that Fred and Marls did on peter’s Annual I broke my Leg Ride.
I would like to book Fred and Marls outback Catering Service for my Daylesford Info Ride day.

Great job, good ride, all home safe which is good for a peter R ride.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Beer in one hand - throttle in the other - body thoroughly used up,totally worn out and screeming what a ride
