We did the whole Goughs loop with only Aaron being left out there, I counted five crows.
Nobody was interested in picking over his bike as it's a KTM.

Gee there is some technical riding out there, but way fun.
It would be good to know how many vertical meters we did, one minute you’re in the valley the next on the ridge looking at the valley.

One hill in particular, Rubbish tip hill, was once just a play hill but now the ruts there now make it one of the hardest of the loop. Lucky there's a bypass track for it.

I can recall the day Australia went to the dogs...
The day that I had to pay for sauce on my pie.

What a day. I did make it home.

A really top ride. More people need to come on this ride. Don't be scared.
I had a pretty good day, mostly. I took it easy on the first few small hills to warm up, as I knew what was coming. Everyone made it up Alans peak first go, as it seems a lot easier than it was a few years back. It has been cleaned up a bit. A couple of quick ridge tracks and a couple of up and downs as we headed towards rubish tip hill. Along the way I came accross Rowan stuck on a hill. Like ants to the sugar pot, I joined him, dropping my bike and sliding backwards down the short steep hill on my stomac. After gathering my composure I headed off to rubbish tip hill. As stated by others it is quite badly rutted now, so I went up the main trail and then off the side to miss the mess at the top. I then sat down and had lunch and watched Shane and Tafen make it look easy.
Some time after lunch (my memory of the day is a bit fuzzy) we came to a long technical climb with a couple of rock ledges and a couple of off camber turns. I had my moment of glory passing everyone and getting to the top first. And I sure let everyone know about it as I went back to help a couple of stranded riders. Criss was last to clear the hill after braking a front brake lever.
I got up Rowans hill on my third attempt, with most doing much the same. I was getting a bit weary by this stage. So a couple of flowing ridge line tracks and threw the old quarry. Onto a short single track and onto the last  hill of the day.
THEN IT ALL CAME CRASHING DOWN.
I got stuck about 3/4 of the way up. I tried to take off again but began cramp quite badly. Legs, forearms and biceps all seemed to go at the same time. I was in a whole world of hurt. Lucky I had friends there to video the whole pathetic epesode. Thanks Dave. Ever feel guilty?
I was cactus, finished, washed up and over the hill. The rest is a blurr.....I awoke the next day hardly able to move.

Can't wait until the next one. Bring it on!!!!
