Taking off at 8.15am, What a Grouse day for a ride, no dust what so ever, greasy hill climbs, Huski Clay and KTM Clay, erosion mounds big and small, steep ups and downs and gradual ups and downs, rocks and sand, trees to go under and over 16 other happy guys and 1 Potty mouthed old bloke who still managed nearly everything.

The ride was supposed to be just a level 1 level 2 ride but after the first ten kay's it was apparent that we had no level 1 riders with us except for those of us sporting injury's so I gradually stepped it up with some technical challenges along the way till most of us found our limit.
We started on Wild Cow Track which is nice and flat but a great mix of Sand and Huski Clay and puddles, we then headed up Ortons Tk were I stopped in a large puddle and gave the Kato a quick wash, then it was of up Dwyer's to the end for our first regroup of 18 smiling faces, giving the smokers time for a quick Gasper then it was off down Stuart Mine Tk and into Good Hope Tk and up to Wombat Ridge Rd for morning Tea.

We then headed of to find and do Lady Sutton Manor Sth and this is were the real fun began. I saw this slightly overgrown un named track which about 1klm into it we found 2 downed trees. We road around one and under one then about 2 klms further down we found a big downed one, some road around with much difficulty and some of us lifted our bikes over which was not so bad as it was down hill, some one else suggested that they had been for a look further down, and thought it was a dead end, so I went for a look see , it was a great track, but all of a sudden it was just so overgrown with weeds it was pointless trying to go any further, so it was back for over an hour of fun, trying to get around, or over the big tree for about 12 of us.

As well as one very lowered WR250 which had lost a bolt out of its suspension link. The boys managed to get another bolt in there and get it going, and eventually we were all back at Lady Sutton to find Frankie having a melt down at me, that this is a L1 2 ride not a clubman ride POO Poo feking POO Will.

Sorry Frank but we had to have a look C, as you just never know what we would have found unless you check it out, and most found it very character building.
Time was getting on by know, so we headed for home finding a couple really good tracks, even though they were dead ends along the way, we headed down Burns to Blue Rock Rd and to Mervs TK, and across S6 back onto Wild Cow Tk and back to the carpark at 1.15pm with 93klms under my wheels.

A big thanks to everyone who came and partook and helped out in what was another great morning on the bikes, it was nice to ride with 6 blokes I had not ridden with before and of coarse the other 11 it was great to ride with once again, even old potty mouth Reefman. Till next time, Will.

P.S Gary, Zeb, Tony, and Ash headed out for some clubman fun in the arvo so Gary can fill u in on that.
And of coarse all who attended are very welcome to add there thoughts as well.

Had a nice cruisy day, with a couple of challenges, my bald tyre didnt help on the slippery hills but eventually got there.
The narrow track 4 of us went and did afterwards was pretty good. My bike fell into a hole and i went over the handlebars. Zeb struggled a bit on the uphills and i broke my barkbuster crashing whilst riding over a big log. All in all a pretty good day, i was buggered by the time i got home and went straight to bed for a nap

As it was my first AMTRA ride I did not know what to expect.
What I found was a bunch of likeminded guys out to have a good time. The atmosphere around the ride was good and the terrain was mixed with some excellent sandy, rocky, slippery clay and gravelled tracks. If this is AMTRA then I'll be back soon. Thanks to Will (well done on giving your bike an early wash), Gary and the other riders for making this a fun day on the bike.

Thanks Wilbur... another good day out !

I've got some video to put up when I can figure out how to edit it.

Especially good to have footage of Bill coming to grief on a big log............... hang on, it wasn't that big.

Thanks Will and Gary
Also thanks Steve for some helpful advice getting up that grotty hill.
Until this ride I was a river crossing virgin. Got to go through it twice.  Grin
Had an absolute ball, loved the varied terrain and couldn't of picked a better day. Terrific group of blokes to ride with too.
Thanks again to everyone

Thanks Will for a great ride , was a good mix of riders and perfect weather as well.
With the experienced riders stopping and helping out when needed made it an easy morning for me at the back, by the time we got back to the cars I think most had had enough, with only 3 riders taking me up on the offer of an afternoon ride.
We headed out towards Moondarra Reservoir then across the dam wall out towards Glengarry then ran the same tracks in reverse back to the cars adding another 40km for the day.
Cheers,
Gary.

Hey Bill

Due to my incredible advanced technical skills

( ie: not knowing if the camera was on or off...................)

I did in fact get some vid of you & the stick...

I'll put it up when I can, but I've got the week from hell coming up, so it might take a while.
