David Tucker Suzuki DRZ250
Darren Hornsby KTM 300exc
Steve Wiseman Honda XR400 only 1/2 ride
El Presidenti Serge Coffa Yamaha WR250
Mud Mistress Marls Schenko Sherco 300i managed 5klms before it broke.

Well what a great day was had by most, it started slow for me as 15 minutes from home I relized I left my wallet at home so back I went which put me about 15 minutes late.
Thankfully I was already half dressed so on with the armour and boots and shirt gloves and helmet and I was ready.
Wish I could say that for the rest of them. Marls new bike was not happy and killed the battery trying to start it. We swapped the plug checked the connections then jump started it .
We eventually headed out about 8.30am and went down the road to the famous clay hill at Sawdust, I was fist to go up and got 3/4s the way up to be stuck in a rut with no easy exit, Serge was soon to follow with the same demize, Steve M was next also getting stuck with Pommy Mat on the big CR being the first to make it to the top. By the time we all got back down we found Marls bike to be playing up again so a couple of the other guys went back to the carpark to get Fred and the trailer. By this stage Steve M had found some grip just of to the to the side of the clay and a few guys had a couple of goes up and down and found perfect grip so once fred arrived we all headed up and onwards.
With only 5klms under our belt and now 9am I pushed on hard and almost ended the day early when I miss judge my speed over an erossion mound getting a kick of the mound on the rear wheel giving me plenty of air between my feet and the pegs causing me to land hard on the front wheel and over the bars I went.
I Dusted my self off and Mat and I having a big laugh about it on we went down to the Paris track area but having to go over or around or under a lot of downed trees but we pushed on to were I do my usual level 2 loops.
We then had a quick regroup and some morning tee and then headed of for a ride around the sweatwater reserve area doing some of the usual tracks but doing a lot of new ones also including a great disused slightly overgrown track were at the regroup at the end the guys informed me that Steve W had pulled the pin and returned to the carpark as he was sick of his glasses fogging up at the stage.
We then headed to the other end of sweetwater and did some more tracks which I had not done before to find a great track but soon quickly tightned up to two large holes , we managed to get my bike and Colins and Mats bike to the other side and as mat was helping the others get to the other side colin and I had a look further up to find a hill which was well of 60degree climb with lots of ruts and roots so we decided to turn around and go back.
We eventaully all got back to the other side and and went of blasting around some of my usual tracks including my famous XR clutch hill with most of us getting up first time with Daniel and David and Darren giving the rest of us some entertainment as the seem to be going every were except up the hill. Will need to rename the hill the 3 D hill.
James wandered down to help them out as the rest of us were just glad to be up. Daniel was last up and I asked him were James was, still at the bottom he said, did you offer to dink him up I asked, no way he said I just wanted to get myself up, we all started to have a laugh at James exspence when Mat said I best go get him but as Mat got on a bike James came puffing up the hill like a steam engine.
We then had a small break for James to catch his breath. We then set off once again with about 3/4hr to go  when we came across Marls famous swimming hole. We had a chuckle and laugh and set off, love this track very rough but if you push hard and get it right it is a real rewarding track ending at the 3 way intersection of Beards and Stole, Colin came along soon after me and then Daniel, we had some bench racing then some more  then some more and after about 15 minutes I decided that some thing has happened so we better head back picking up teh corner guys as we went.
Riding back I was starting to crap my self cause all the missing guys are good riders, what could have happened, I hope we do not have another club injurie or something bad like that. Finally we found the tailgroup back at  Marls swimming hole were we discovered that Mat had decided that although the big CR has no bottom in its air filter box that he would go for a ride in Marls pool to find that infact CR500s cannot swim and drowned the foooking thing up to the top of the tank. Luckly they had dryed it out by the time we got there so we started it up and bolted back togeather and of we went back to the cars with me having to flip teh 540 onto reserve about 3klms from the cars.
Into the pub for lunch we were met Fred and Marls who had been to drop the Sherco back to Powerhouse in Pakenham for some much needed warranty work on the engine temp sender. It was also nice to be joined for lunch by Wiggy and Rob Lomas and we all had a great social lunch together.
A big thanks to all who came along and help to make it a great day out. Will

I got a little video footage I'll put up soon, and Darren took his usual helmet cam footage, so I expect that will make an appearance soon.

Thanx for a good day Will. Surprising how much traction you can get on some of those slippery tracks.  Some of those deep bog holes really stank, though.  You would not want to get stuck in them for long.

Some of you guys know that I found a phone on Sawdust Track.  Well, I put it into one of those zip-lock bags I carry, and took it home.  It was a muddy messy, but I pulled it apart and washed it out, and then dried it out and recharged it.  It took a while, but it came back to life, so I looked through some messages, made a call or two and tracked down a very apprectative owner.

All in all, a great morning ride with good lunch time company and banter.

Look forward to the next one.

Dont worry old boy we missed you, we had to pick on Serge a lot due to you not being there to pick on. I have saved you a spot for the exploration ride so get yourself and the BM ready. Mat reckons he did not realize that it was Marls's pool, I just think it was brain fade but do not worry I slapped him for it. By the way do not die as this will throw the calender out as we would need to make time for your funeral. Stay safe, Will

Yep..The Sherco broke down, but It was probably because Fred did such a thorough job of washing it that water got in somewhere.
Well done Mat on bringing the big CR500.I could hear the thing crackling behind me a few times and thought "better move over"
The first hill which is usually a piece of cake was slippery as hell which made for some fun and games.
I'm putting some video together now,but I have to keep deleting parts to fit it under ten minutes for youtube.

Darren,

Don't delete too much!  Your films are always great.

Maybe do a 'Part 1' and 'Part 2'?  Post em up as 2 separate videos.
