Again another well attended Neerim Sth Instruction ride with only a couple who said they were coming not turning up.
We started once again with the climb up lizards which took a bit for every one to have ago with most making it with instruction and Marls having to come back down as the Sherco was not starting which we later worked out to be from a bad connection at the coolant temp sender unit. Nicole got most of the way up on her 2nd attempt with just needing her bike to be rode up the last few meters which was a great effort. Most of teh others came back down and had a second go which was great to see considering I had never seen this hill so slippery before. We got Marls bike going and Pat rode it around the loop to Sawdust and Marls rode along the lower road with Phill. We came down the clay hill at Saw dust slipping and sliding all over the place with most getting down without dropping there bikes. Some then had a go at riding back up and down , I then asked Marls if she wanted to have a go at riding up which her responded yep sure will, so I asked Rossi to ride up to the third erosion mound so he could help Marls if she got into trouble. Rossi only made the 2nd mound before doing a 180 and dropping it in the Clay slime. Here comes the best part of the day, Marls took off riding like a seasoned Level 2 rider and rode right past Rossi who was still trying to pick up his bike and made it almost to the 3rd mound before doing a 180, I'm sure she could here all the cheers from the bottom of the hill cause up she jumped and I am sure we could see the smile on her face through her helmet. Anyway we made our way to the camping area around Paris and did some tracks there which were very slippy also. By this time it was almost lunch time so we headed back via Sawdust once more and back to the cars . Gidday all,
Well, all that I can say, is that I've never kissed the ground so many times & done so much mud wrestling Shocked

before in my whole time dirt bike riding, as much as I did yesterday. Will, once again, you have put on a great, fun & challenging instruction day for us all. What a good bunch to ride with. Even caught up with Dave, an old neighbour from way back! No, I wasn't scared once, very much getting over the fear factor & happy to tackle any challenge you throw at me?....whether I complete it or not is another story Huh

Very big thanks as well to the great bunch of of instructors & tailmen once again, who without them, this type of ride would just not be possible Kiss

Lesson I learnt this time:
How to lean the bike over when going around obstacles & around bends......also leaning the bike over, just a way bit too far Undecided

Nice pics Fred! I would have liked to be there.
Looks like everyone did well tackling sawdust and lizards,'cause it looks just like the HTFU ride, and that was damn slippery.

well yes - started the day with a "casual" Huh

ride up lizards - apparently classic level 1 rider training terrain Undecided

[Yes Will I get it - HTFU!] - but cant complain - got up twice and then down sawdust which frankly was "interesting" given my first attempts at it some months ago, which Will kindly recalled, was me "sliding down it on my face" - so seems that the practice is working! a good morning session and enjoyed it immensely.

really did appreciate the opportunity and the fact the helpers were on hand and had given up there time to make it happen - and to Fred for the pictorial rendition!

Really enjoyed the twisty,slippery & muddy tracks.
I look forward to going on another of your rides.

Er,,Um....the lengths that some helpers go too, to encourage others to reach their true ability or did I just stuff up for the enjoyment of others!!!

Wow what a day! I had so much fun, the first hill was a bit of a struggle but after that it was go all the way. Many thanks to Rossi and Phil for the guidance and to Will for hosting. It was great to meet such a fantastic bunch of guys (and Marls, who rocks by the way!!) Got the bike home and gave it and the gear a really good clean, I think I bought 1/2 of sawdust home

Will def go again, whens the next one?
