We started a little late as the morning ride ran a little over time, again we had some who promised to come along who had chickened out at the last minute, must admit if I was not running the days events I may have just stayed home too cause when I woke at 5am the rain was peeing down, anyway starting late ment we had to take a 10klm transport section and cut out some of the warm up tracks. We started at the camping spot at the 5ways area and headed straight into it with regular regroups so we did not get to spread out, we then headed to sweatwater and into a great disused 4wd track, phil struggled a bit on this one and most of us had been caught out by the old Bon jovi Tour of slippery when wet by this stage but all having a great laugh along the way. We had another regroup and let Phil catch his breath then it was back into the steep ups and downs of the fence line track and working our way to the bog holes then the steep rocky up hill to Marls swimming pool for a cruise down another slippery track to the river dead end for a bit of a rest and regroup. We then headed off and getting back to one of the main tracks just after 4 so we had a quick blast through plantation and headed for the cars with two taking a short cut before one of them got a short cut for being late home with the rest of us going back down lizzards slip sliding all the way to the bottom and back to the cars for 4.55 and again with nine smiling faces in the carpark. The tracks were not as wet as last weeks ride but they were more slippery which made it harder to get into a grove. A big thanks to Phill for going Tailman for the arvo ride and to all who came along and made it a great afternoon, and to Frankie and Rossi for coming along for dinner at the pub. Please feel free to add to this message your thoughts on the ride. Apart from most of us being caught out by the slippery when wet the ride was almost uneventful as nothing went wrong but was still a good ride. Will
