Will Munro Ride leader KTM 525exc
Colin Pearce Tailman KTM 250EXC
Frank Reefman KTM 300EXC
Darren Hornsby KTM 300EXC
Rossi Ranyard Honda CRF450
James Creasey Honda CRF 450
Mat Creasey Honda CRF 450 X

What an ace day for a ride, we met early at Neerim, 7.30am to be on the bikes for 8am. We were all blown away by the fact that Frankie had sold the Bavarian Money Waister, and bought a new KTM 300EXC. We took off just after 8am and left vie the bumping track out of the car park and worked our way to lizards and up  to memory were  we went right and then down and onto sawdust were we followed it to billstone and up the end and turned right into square track, and into the plantation were we took some tracks which we would not normally take, and ended up on memory lane were we turned right and did a couple more new tracks before heading down one of my link tracks, it was about this time that we realized that the theme for the day was tree hopping, just about everywhere we went had timber down most passable but a couple in passable with us having to turn around and go another way to get around. We did find a great bit of overgrown disused track going through a plantation and ending up on Paris was ace. Paris was one we had to turn around on so we headed back to one of my over grown plantation tracks which brings you back onto Paris but past the downed trees and onto the High tree 5 way intersection for a rest. It was at this point that James realized that his rear tyre was flat so onto a stump and of with the wheel. Whilst they were mucking around with the tyre I took Frankies sweat new ride for a blast. Once James had the tyre fixed we were off again exploring a couple of our other tracks which we would not normally use and then onto one of the famous tight overgrown un used 4wd tracks , it was just to hot to keep going on the over grown tracks so we jumped back onto beards and headed for Stolls were we followed it onto extension and down onto high tree and down to latrobe river road and turned left and did a lot of the tracks on the LH side of latrobe river rd, it was about this time that James retired to the car park with a slight rattle in his honda, so we worked our way back to Carroll were we went and did some of the HTFU special trails were I seamed to find a lot of deep bog holes.
We then went down Whitelaws and up the clay at Sawdust were Rossi still had trouble getting past were Marls had got to on a previous ride, we eventually made the top of the staircase track, were we went down it and then back up the secret track back to Sawdust were we headed for the road and back to the car park just on 12.15 with 64klms under our wheels.
We cleaned and packed up and headed to the Neerim Sth hotel for lunch and some serous shutt stirring and bench racing.
All in all very dry day and easy level 2 with a couple of clubman sections thrown in, and considering the amount of rain we have had, there was lots of traction. It was very warm, but had a great day with a great bunch of guys, thanks a lot to all who came along and made it such a great day, and have a Merry Christmas and a happy and safe new year all. Will

I picket up my new bike last Monday afternoon,I was really hanging out for a ride on it to day, I was up at 5am & got to the unloading area early, quickly unloaded the bike chucked on the helmet & hit the trails, it didn't take long for me to feel at home again on a smoker Grin the further I went the bigger the smile, I didn't take spare fuel with me so I thought I better save the fuel that I had for the ride.
Don't know the name of the track, I'm sure Will knows the track I'm talking about, I was coming up to him at a quick pace, so I thought I would fly past him Grin only to end up in some big holes, in one then another & then some more Grin the only thing that saved me was the good handling of the Kato, the lightness of the bike makes it very forgiving, talking about the lightness it makes it heaps easier to get through the many bog holes as well Grin
Matt, didn't like my nice clean bike much, every chance he got he tried to roost me & some of them worked Grin I owe you one Matt Grin
no it's all good fun, had a ball, looking forward to to-morrows ride now.

Thanks again Will for leading another great ride & Colin for doing the sweep, & the rest of you blokes for making it a great day, see you all on the next one for sure Grin

After BMW have pulled the pin on the G450X & the trouble I've had with the dealers, I lost interest in the bike even though it's a great bike, so I started thinking about a smoker again, after to-day ride I'm very happy I made the move.

Me and the Sawdust like spending quality time together...

Thanks again Will for the time and effort you put into organising these rides and to the other wackers that support your rides.

Good job Colin as tailman for day.

Yep..another great ride at Neerim Sth.Every time I ride there I seem to like it more as there's a great variety of tracks. It was great to see Frankie-Boy has seen the light and got a KTM 300,he was riding pretty well for the first time out on her.
As per usual Will took us down some great tracks, and I had a ball tearing through some of the bog holes which seemed to be rather common. The 300 was running better after I switched from 98 BP ultimate to standard premium but I was buggered after a long day the day before and three hours sleep.
Seems like Matt and James need to work on their tube changing skills after blaming each other for the pinch flat, but good to see they're always seeing the funny side..
Thanks to Colin for doing sweep duties too.
The feed at the pub went down a treat..Even after seeing what James C was eating.
All in all another great day, even after getting breathalyzed and the full rego/licence check just after leaving the carpark.
Thanks everyone!
