First Things First "Thanks to John's Parents for letting us use their Property and thanks to John for putting on another outstanding Event.
I woke this Morning to Rain tapping on the Bedroom Window about 6.30am, i was soon up and in the Car heading for Daylesford and arrived about 8.45am. John, Freddo and Marls had set up a couple of Quick Shades as it was gunna be a sunny day, most of the Punters arrived not long after me and were quick to get their riding Gear on to do Loops of the Circuit that John had upgraded from the last Event.
The new and improved track were a bit different from last time , with extended jumps and Double log challenge that i stuffed up on a couple of times. Rossco P Coltrain and Al were down in the back paddock, teaching Log crossings and assisting with Beginner riding Skills. I decided to go down and Practice some log jumping, and with Marls at the helm of the trusty Video Recorder, captured me doing some sort of Bike Dismount while jumping a log " Can't wait to see that posted all over the web".
The Kids were having a ball going around the track on their Pwee's etc and most of them rode all day.
With everyone cutting Loops around the Track and doing Log jumping , it was time for lunch.
Seano was in charge of the BBQ and brought along some " Chicken, Cheese & Vegimite Snags" MMMM Good Sean.
After lunch most riders headed out into the Bush for some ride time to practice their new fund skills. Nath, John , Rossco, Johnny, new member Adrian and myself tackled the more aggressive type hills. I saw johns bike do a cart wheel backwards down the hill with Nath wheel spinning on a 45' Hill. We headed back then i decided to do some Speedy loops of around 5 Klms and this got the Adrenalin pumping as i think we did about 15 Loops all up, while Seano joined us for about 5 of then.
One back at the Camp, it was time to Talk some crap, and down some Fizzy drinks then help pack up and hit the Road.
Thanks John, Seano, Al, and the lovely Wives for helping with the Day.
Fred and Marls for the Quick shade's and anyone else that helped.
A great day had by all.
It's really good to see people putting in so much effort. And i would hate to know how much john has spent on Diesel for the Dozer to make the track & Jumps etc.
Remember: It's not what the Club can do for you, it's what you put into the Club that makes it a better Club for all !!!

Thanks heaps to John T and his family for letting us invade once again...it was terrific. Johnny and i started the day with the alarm going off at 3.45am...out of the house by 4.30. Fog was the order of the day but it finally cleared (gotta love Gippsland).We arrived at 8.30 and very keen to get bikes off trailer and gear up..within 15 minutes just about everyone had rocked up..let the fun begin. Al took some of us on a beginner session to assist with log jumps...whoa..how much fun was that. Rossi was there to help at one end of the log and Al at the other...safe as houses...jumping over logs (standing up even at times)...there was Shaz, me, Nic learning all sorts of new stuff..then Al decided we were good enough to tackle a bigger log. (Gulp). Me and Nic just looked at it and went ...NAH!!..but onward and upward we went..and upward it was..literally....Al again at one end..Rossi at the other..they help me to get over this thing i think 3 times before i must have foolishly though for a moment that i can do this...so front wheel over, no problem...then im not sure how or what i did, the boys could probably explain it better..but i did a mighty power stand/mono..what ever its called...and my butterfly decorated yamaha was heading for the skies..i however hit the dirt...(Al and rossi said if they could fly they may have been able to catch me  )apparently its on film..but from what i hear from all that were there...it was impressive. Marls had a few goes and she was very impressive aswell..a minor muck up there but all in all..shes great to watch and i beleive John was filming so look foward to that. We then went and tried some uphill downhill techniques...lots of fun, Nathan was there helping and showed the difference in riding down hill sitting as opposed to standing...up and down hills. Will be on my pegs alot more i reckon now. Stopped for lunch...thanks to all that cooked up for us...and then we headed out to do some loops...excellent fun..and i felt so much more confidence and skill was there..and i had a blast...even this little tricky bit that i couldnt conquer last time i was there...after 3 laps i was not scared anymore..so feel very proud of myself. To the lady who fell in the water at that section (im so sorry im not sure of your name)...spectacular manouvre into the water..but seriuosly hope your ok..well done. Oh and big news...im very excited about this...I made cornerman (or woman)...my first time...so i reckon if you have become a cornerman..then you have made it...YAY!!! My wonderful Husband Johnny D was very supportive of me as usual and i always like to thank him for that...After my powerstand/mono fall...as usual he helped to pick me up and dust me off..thanks darlin..oh and thanks for the hosing down in the puddle..Al Mason..note to self...Teach Bob how to roost Johnny D in puddles . So all in all a great day...thanks to all that helped to make it that way and Freddo...thanks for being tailman..and it was nice not to need your help this time round (and you know what i mean by that)..i feel i rode very well. Nic..great to see you there tackling that hill..you go girl. Marls - your just great to learn from and watch...Shaz...loved riding with you again..cant wait for next time. I do specifically want to thank Al...he had stated he wanted to help people who struggled with stuff..wether it be logs or hills etc,,he said he has seen people back out of a ride or not enjoy it as much due to these struggles and he wanted to see if he could help wth this to make the riding more enjoyable...well it worked for me...thats a fact and i really hope others got something out of it. So Al..thank you. And the little tackers on their bikes...very cute and well done. Their little go-ers arent they?. They dont stop...great. Oh and Rebecca, stand by for the twin shot pic of us..."go the pink fox gear" So thats it from me..had a blast..thanks everyone |

Big thanks to John for the use of the property, organising the day and putting the track and obstacles together.
It was great fun doing laps of the track, playing on obstacles and then hitting the bush for a few loops with Pete R.

Thanks John for the use of the property and all the hard work you and others put in to make the day happen, all the small and big kids were having a blast, Hunter hasn't stopped asking when the next one is going to be.

Thanks heaps to John's family and to John's huge efforts in getting the place up to it present state. I had a great day and enjoyed the time spent and questions asked by beginers through to the higher levels all day. And found the day very rewarding. Thanks to Nath, Rossi and others who helped me out doing so! Both Shaz and i had a great time and enjoyed the company of everyone there. Shaz wants to thank Father Ted for his help through the day. It was great to see Ted having a great day to, with him making corner man nearly every corner for the loops i lead. I also had a ball taking Nath and Johnny around in the morning to show the loop. I was flying out it front, not so quick when i looked behind. But out in front was a hoot. Till the next one Al, Shaz
Ps. Bob, will add kit to the request list to teach you how to roost Johnny. Maybe he could park in a puddle and we let all the begginers practice!

firstly i would like to start with a big thankyou to johnt and family for once again allowing us to make use of his backyard. also a bigh thanks to al mason and rossi for taking the time to pass on some of their skills and know how to bob (and others),,her riding continues to improve in leaps and bounds from the input she recieves from days like this, thanks guys. al and pete r thanks for the loops i had a blast, didn't want to stop!. also thankyou to darren and seano for cooking up a great bbq. thankyou to everyone who turned up to make the day what it was --FUN! the little blokes on there bikes doing lap after lap after lap is such a buzz to watch, all of you parents must be so proud of your kids, its nice to see them enjoying what i do, at such a young age, good on you mums and dads.

Well, what can I say, another great day at John T’s & family’s place. Thank you for your hospitality & use of your beautiful farm, in sunny & perfect weather conditions. Can’t add much to what has already been said, but it was great to see so many happy kids, beginners & not so beginners, along with their families, having a blast in the sun! Good food by the master chefs once again & some great ride demonstrations & ride loops; big thankyou to all the helpers throughout the day. This is one day not to be missed! Johnno, great job on the motocross track; we can see a lot of work has gone into setting it up & it is REALLY appreciated, gotta love those jumps! Bravo!!!! Hi all We had a ball! Big thank you to Al for all of the coaching (again) the logs were fun in the morning - and the berms on the track were awesome!!!! Big thankyou to John and family for the use of the property, it is guys like you that make days like this possible. I got so much confidence from doing laps on the track, practicing over and over. I even managed to start accelerating down some of the little hills Pauly enjoyed himself (just quietly, I think we might have recruited another member) Thanks again to all - look forward to seeing you all again soon! |
