Had slight mishap, young Dane broke his leg. I spoke to his girl friend this morning, he is in Alfred hospital with a clean brake to his femur. It has been pinned and we all hope for a speedy recovery. Many thanks to all who assisted in his evacuation, a full ride report to come.
Thanks Jeff

I'm anxious to read the report Jeff, probably like the other 18 who were on the ride...Nothing worse than seeing a rider go down and hurt themselves. Big high 5 to all who helped. Just a few pic's from the day.
I've never ridden that area before but love it all the same..
Lefty.
PS. One of the last pic's is looking into the bush and trees, from the track we were riding on, if you look close enough you can see a fallen light colored tree in the foreground (Dane cleared that) look over the tree in the middle of the pic you will see other riders ! That is where he ended up. My estimate was 36 meters. Quite a good superman stunt I thought... Cheers.

Well that was a cracker ride, there were some funny moments james attempting a superman with a whip,he didnt pull it off. good pace ace tracks top blokes.poor dane thought a lot of bad stuff was going on but he took it well.
it happened on mcguire track near selma track and it was kind of lucky stan come off breaking his hand just where and right before dane broke his leg we wouldnt have found him before dark caues you couldnt see him from the track and there were no skid marks.
by the time jeff got danes bike stans bike and stan back to the pub we got home at 1:30am. rawson pub had the best parma and beer

Had the same thing happen on a ride I was involved with in 2006 on McGuires about 300m west of the Selma Tk intersection. Fast rideline tk and someone hit a tree. It's also not far from where Phil Randall came off last year.

Thanks heaps for leading Jeff, there was a bit of every sort of terrain ............ rocky & steep , greasy & steep, flowing trails & plenty of water crossings.
Hope your recovery is quick Dane, your mates were telling us your due to get married in a couple of weeks.....
Bravest man on the ride award goes to Jeff who spoke to your wife to be !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did I read correctly that Stan also had a crash & broke a wrist ?

Good work to all those involved.
This kind of incident highlights 2 things:
1. Our TAC system works very well for us, and 2. Riding with AMTRA means there will ALWAYS be someone there when the sh1t hits the fan.

What a day at Rawson!! Firstly can I say THANKS to Matt for helping me get my bike going after damaging my radiator and to Jeff for helping with directions so I could make it back to my car. Secondly, sorry to hear about Dane breaking his leg. All the best for a speedy recovery. I also heard that wasnt the only injury for the day- wishing Stan a speedy recovery too. Overall the big 24 ks that I rode were great and I look forward to getting out on the track again soon. Cheers Adam

Just a quick note from Jeff's long suffering wife He is working on his ride report but unfortunatley you can't rush a master (typing is not his strong point). I'll keep nagging him so he should have it done soon.
