clay . love the stuff hate the stuff..

excellent day.. Pat , your a ripper. great ride with some good slippy challenges. no dramas ,err, well one wr4fitty not starting and a lunchtime flat.oh and a broken clutch leaver and Erics front sproket that only peter r would love to see.

back to the cars on reserve. a bit sore but loved every bit.

thanx Fred for tail man dutys and Pat for a great day..

What a day!!

was a bit concerned going through the spur and through buxton with the deep fog we were driving through, thankfully 1/2 way along Glendale lane it magically cleared!!! Grin Grin

we all geared up and admired Rat's and Milktaost's nice new bikes - gotta say that the KTM with white plastics looks the goods!!

after the guys attempted to get a troublesome WR going and failed we took off for a short loop to give him (Alistair i think??)time to try and sort the issues out..

we returned to the cars where there was still no joy with the WR.. a few more joint efforts were made but after maybe 15 minutes it was pronounced dead..

We took off again for a brilliant mix of riding, some nasty red clay down hills, some nice flowing "overgrown tracks", some sweeping fire trails and some long slippery rocky climbs...

other than the red clay, the theme for the day was LOGS, and lots of them, big ones, little ones, huge ones and everything in between!!! i learnt alot about going over and arouind logs...

All in all, a great days riding with no injuries and only a couple of minor bike issues..

A huge thanks to Pat for putting the ride on and leading and Fred for tailman duties.. and to everyone who contributed to it being a great day..

gday all. it sounds like it was a top ride Smiley. im not happy about my 250 not starting but my dad was kind enough to drop it over to the lovely people of evolution motorcycles in epping today for them to have a look at. i spoke to them not long ago and told them all the symptoms and they have found the valve clearances were well out of whack and there was almost a dead short behind the headlight which they reckon wasnt giving the spark plug enough energy or something like that. they said that should have fixed the problem and got it going but its giving them headaches and still not starting so they are waiting for yamaha head office to send a wiring diagram and see how they go from there. ill keep you all posted and let you know what they find

Had a look in my tank today and I can see the bottom of it. Shocked Shocked  Anyone know how many kms we did after returning to the cars?

 Thanks to Pat for a great day with some absolute ball tearing tracks Grin Mind you we should talk it down a bit as we dont want to many people along on the next ride Wink
Thanks to everyone else for making it a top day and Fred for tailman duties ( hope the Op on the knee went well today) The boys at the shop were surprised  I made it all the way back to the cars the way the sprocket looked but I was having to much to care( Mine showed 102km Urban)

Yep..Great ride Pat! And nice work by tailman Fred.
Also thanks Trev? for riding the bike up that hill for me.I was knackered!
I think Dustin summed it up well with logs,branches and more logs.I started to lose count of the number of times I lost the front end on 'em.
Fantastic riding spot though and I think Pat mentioned it was only one little corner of the forest.
Bit of bad luck with the WR there Alistar.Next one maybe.
And speaking of WR's,Eric did well making it back with several teeth missing from his front sprocket.
Good luck with the op Fred,and next one Marls gets to ride the 300 while you wait in the car.
Or as someone said..Cook up a BBQ for us. Wink
I really gotta fix my e-start!

Gidday all,
Just got home after a very long day dropping The Wingman off at hospital at 7.30am, shopping all day (hard work)  Grin then picking him up around 5.30. Got him home & with help of some crutches, managed to get him up the hill climb that leads to our back door & put him to bed...totally knackered he is & is going to be a very sore lad once the morphine wears off, but like Will's famous chant..... "HTFU" I told him  Wink...He'll survive & yeh, I'll get my bike back now  Cheesy , can't let him get too comfortable with it..

Well, this must be, one of the best rides I have 'never' done. I tagged along just for the drive for this one and while the gang, about 10 of them, were chasing the Dirt Pilot around the "Hills Are Alive" area of Buxton, including tackling again "That Hill"  and which the Wingman got an excellent photo of, showing a real good insight into how steep it really is (see pics to follow), I kicked back in the ute, caught a few zzzz's, cracked a few cans & enjoyed the tranquility of the area & watched some "How can I ever ride this stuff properly? training DVD's including the Romaniacs Enduro & Yamaha Off Road Enduro"  Roll Eyes...
That's about all I can really tell you of the day, but I know he had an excellent time, especially because he was riding my bike, but now he can get his own...(bugger sitting on the sidelines Wink  )

It was great to go for a ride in fine conditions for a change, no rain even a bit of sunshine at times. Track conditions were great, a bit of mud and plenty of slippery stuff to keep you on your toes. Good crew to ride with too.

Thanks Pat for putting the ride on and Fred for doing tail duties all day. Dont think you're gonna get that Sherco back tho' Marls, Fred was enjoying himself too much...

Thanks for everyone who attended. Its was perfect weather for trail riding. I thought it was dryer than last week. Found a couple of new tracks as well. Had a flat rear tyre, first one in 8 years. I had not replaced the tubes with super heavy duty in the back yet, so that was the reason me thinks. The Sherco did not break down. Its seems Team Japcrap let the team down this time. Go Team Eurotrash!
